Before I say anything I would like to point out I think EP is a very dangerous team and at this point i would say they are favorites to win their section.

But, in this game I have to give the edge to the Jags. I mean even with Siiro out, the forward depth on this team is awesome. From what i see it looks as if they moved senior defenseman LaBombard up to forward to replace Siiro on that second line and he has plenty of varsity experience and has played forward in previous seasons too so he fits right in.

Herbert's line is always solid and that kid is so hard to stop. If he doesn't beat you with his dangles he'll beat you with his speed or (like in the Moorhead game) he'll draw penalties and that Jaguar powerplay has been stellar this year.

Both teams have great defenseman in Leddy and Faust and when their on the ice both team are fairly confident that they wont be beat. They have also both proved the can come up with big goals.

The one thing i would like to say though, the past few years i have seen these teams....EP always lost at BIG and Jefferson usually always lost or tied at EP. So we'll see if this pattern continues but if their were a team to break the pattern i think it would be this years Jags

Jefferson 3
Eden Prarie 2

Burnsville's top line.

This should be a very good game but with EP giving up 6 goals to Burnsville recently I am doubting them. Jefferson should be able to use their depth and smother Leddy and the gang but we will have to see.

Jefferson 3
Ep 1

Caleb Herbert will stand out.
Burnsville did take advantage of EP's young defensemen. Scoring a short handed goal and a goal at the end of an EP power play. Burnsville's top line will make some difference in the Section playoffs, but they have no depth on the 2nd or 3rd line. There goaltender needs to make a huge step in Section play.

A rivalry game and you want them to rest the big guns? Get real.

Jags will win 4-2. Coaching of the Jags will shut down EP PP (leddy and Rau). Sirro out could make it interesting but the young guys from EP need to be ready for the physical play of the Jags.

I believe the Jags are prepared to win this one. 3-1

With Siro out that could change things a bit. I'm revising my prediction to Jefferson 3
EP 2 OT
Good luck to both teams - great it will be on myFoxHockey.

Do they really have the #1 locked up if they lose? Head to Head match-up records are a big deal come section seedings...

you're right but i would still see jefferson as a #1 seed since they already beat eden prairie once.

Jags gotta get it goin'. EP controlled the first few mins and now the Jags are finally starting to control the play the last few mins of the 1st period. Leddy looks like the best player on the ice..

I believe it was 10-7 in favor of Jefferson. Came out slow, but controlled most of the play. Need to improve breaking the puck out of their own end. I counted 3-4 turnovers/missed passes in the neutral zone.

Jefferson missed 2 really good chances and EP gets 1 on the breakaway, there only chance of the period thus far. Another great pass by Leddy. 3-0.

3-1.

Joe Faust with the dipsy-do after the pick off at the blue line. What a sniper shot under the cross bar.

I watched a little over half the game on myfoxhockey.com. It was my first time seeing both teams, and I was glad I got a look at them.

It was a more offensive game than what I'd been led to expect, and I was most impressed with EP, naturally. Leddy showed why he's one of the frontrunners for Mr. Hockey, Rogge had a very flashy game, and the Raus played well. They controlled the tempo most of the time and were hitting with authority.

I was a bit disappointed in Jefferson's defense from what I've heard about it, and O'Connor didn't impress me that much either. Missing Siiro obviously doesn't help, but I don't think one player can ever make up a 3-goal defecit against such good competition. They're a good team, certainly, but there are cracks in the walls, and they will have their hands full in 2AA.

Meanwhile, the '93 Jaguars keep their place in history. No matter who they were playing, it was a great run by Jefferson, and sometimes a loss can do some good for an undefeated team down the stretch. They didn't respond particularly well to being down by a lot, but they've never been in that position this year, so that's understandable. If they learn from this and pull things together down the stretch they still can win a state title. As we've seen over the last week or so, the field is almost wide open.

Fun game to watch. It may be the best thing that could have happened to the Jags, a chance to get out from under the microscope and the pressure of the undefeated season and get re-focused. They are a very very good team and will make a run.

I agree. The pressure to be undefeated could kill a team in the sections and state tourney. Now they can refocus and will probably be more dangerous in sections. Sometimes it is good to get the loss behind you and move on to the next thing and now Jefferson can do that. As far as the other teams are concerned, they now learned that there is a way to beat them...

First time I saw the Jags play and was very disappointed in the Jags goalie and their defense in front of their own net. In general they kept the puck out of their zone but EP capitalized every time they were in the Jag zone. I think the Jags are a good team but after watching that game they may not be a top 5 team. We won't know for sure until playoffs but they need some work in the offensive zone. They looked sloppy...
