I think calling it a lock would be premature. And fodder for Alex.
And Sartell could be a 'you betcha'.

So.....you saw through my little ruse to generate some bill board material for Alex, eh??

officeman wrote:The alex and sartell game was in alex hands until Resch got a 10 min misconduct. That is when Sartells momentum started to build. He is the backbone of that 1st line and the other two on that line were struggling throughout the game anyways. If I had to guess why they got benched is because they were playing very selfish. Wants Resch got back in the game at the 5 min mark of the third alex started to play better again. Those two getting benched had nothing to do with it, it was losing resch to that 10 min that set the cards back
Looked up the score sheet.
Resch received the penalty at the same time Sartell scored?
That tells us that Resch was on the ice and his momentum was on his
heels trying to not get scored on?
So the game in the third was 2 to 1 at that point with 16 minutes to play, But the game was in hand? 3 to 2 with 8 minutes to play in the third. But the game was in hand? then the finial 3 to 3.
I agree with dherman8 post.
What great coach brilliance would say you have the game in hand and sit the best two players? These two sat the whole time? Yea right.
There was not a powerplay in the game either which was interesting?
officeman wrote:
Resch is the top of that line and the benchings were warranted from what I saw of the game. You could put two other people on that line to play with resch and replace vangsness and williams and you would see the same effectiveness.
Thomas has 11 more assist and Casey has 8 more assist then Tyler. That would evaluate things to be Tyler is nothing without them doing the dirty work for his 9 more goals.
Sounds like feed Resch, feed Resch problems?
Big Ben makes people look good around him, look at the Tech game for all assist.

How would Alex fit the scenario at all? Your comment doesn't make sense.
And yes, I am getting respect from those with respect to give.

Okay, I went back and read page 1.
Moorhead (or anyone) losing to Roseau (someone they beat) during sections would seem to be an appropriate comparison here.
A win during the year is not guarantying a win in sections.

Very right. In that case Moorhead dominated Roseau the first two meetings. In this case they were very close games. Little Falls is near the top of most rankings and Alex is baring in the top 10 of many somehow suggesting they don't have a shot. They aren't expected to win, they have much more to prove in section 6A.

Little Falls had their worst game of the year to a team that is not even ranked to anyone, so now lets hear it. If LF plays like they did tonight they will not even come close to get passed sections.
All I have to say is WOW, I might be changing my prediction to Alex too, because the way they played tonight's game. Watch out LF, Alex has the depth and the way. LF looked like they were flat on their feet, and didn't even connect the whole game and or to do with a different game plan. This I hope was a eye opener for the high flying Flyers, and hope tomorrows game will hold a lot different play, We will see.

No disrespect to either team, and I would love to see a LF/STA final more than anyone, I'm just trying to point out a possibility that many seem to be dismissing. We'll see what happens

Don't worry hshw, Little Falls knows the section championship won't be handed to them. They know that Alex will be very tough. We aren't stupid.

If these two teams meet in the finals it should be a GREAT game. Let's hope it happens and let's hope it lives up to its billing.

They couldn't have played that bad if they had 74 Shots and didn't give up a goal!

can anyone tell me...is the section final for 6A for sure being played at the MAC in st. cloud, or have the "top" schools entertained the thought of moving this game to the National Hockey Center? i understand the difference in ice size does drastically change the game, especially at the highschool level, but anyone who was at the MAC last year I think would agree it was not a big enough venue for a great section final matchup like we will have this year again...

From what I know its on at the MAC, and I would agree about moving it there, and would make it more even sense that's home advantage for Apollo. Oh and they need to raise the roof in the MAC, to many whistles which makes a prolonged game.

They couldnt have played to bad considering they had 74 shots and that was there 8th game in 17 days and they have another tonight so hold your horses before you start making BOLD statements like that.

I don't need it from you. Not sure why you've trying to put me down, I've said many times I'd love to see Little Falls in the finals and I hope they can prove what they haven't yet. But Alex is a talented team and if Little Falls looks past Alex, Ben may not make it to state again. Which I hope doesn't happen.

umm i dont think they are looking past alex that much.....they are going to be the #2 seed in sections and they know they've had close games with them...they'll be skating hard that game i'm sure

Little Falls is in a league of their own. They most likely will surge in the playoffs as they have been doing and the scores may well be pretty lopsided, even the finals.

Alexandria is playing better again, but a 8-1 game tends to bring out the I want to score type play. Skating coast to coast, not passing, like 3 or 4 unassisst goals, one was a sh though. Isn't that kind of unusal?

Yeah thats pretty normal, a team gets a good lead and then everyone is looking to get their name on the score sheet.
