Obviously MG didn't play well, but The refs gave them the momentum to take the game. Five on Five maple grove matches up very well against blaine.
What game are you watching???

I always love it when the losing team blames the ref in a 7-2 game!!!

Blaine was given momentum, obviously they put away there chances, but two five one threes in a row. Come on were you there?

Ok...but we have Bjugstad and they are a top 5 team....and your boys clearly aren't! Get over it. It's high school hockey, the refs are not going to get every call right but 7-2 and 6-1 on the year says a little something....

First, the momentum getting ahead or momentum killer of behind right away is a big thing. It's unfortunately MG didn't bring it to Blaine in the 1st period the way they did in the 3rd.

Second, no doubt MG broke the number one goal in their game plan by not staying out of the box. With Blaine's PP, they'll make you pay. I will also give you that MG's penalties were generally legit. HOWEVER, it was pretty embarrassing what was not called on Blaine. One of their guys is 3 feet off side and they end up scoring on the rush. It was so obvious the MG goalie let up thinking they had to call it. I know, not the right thing to do. Many, many other times there was way too much clutching and grabbing (tackling) by Blaine, NONE of which was called. These things all affect momentum.

Bottom-line, Blaine was the much better team tonight. But if MG comes out against them in Sections with the energy and confidence they did for much of the third period AND do a better job staying out of the box, IMHO I think Blaine could be in for a surprise.

3rd period doesn't exactly say much when most of the kids playing were JV/V players. Give credit where credit is due. Blaine out played them. And special teams is a huge part of the game. 1/3 of most games are played on special teams. Just my thoughts and yes I was there.

The Crimson may not get another shot to stay out of the box...they'll have to pull off another victory over the mighty Cougars in the section semis if they want another date with the Bengals.

Because Blaine has a better record in and out of conference. I don't see the issue...
