Most people Fantasize about a world without Hill Murray.sachishi4 wrote:I see most of you forgot Hill Murray.

Not sure I agree with that.Springisintheair wrote:It really is a shame as these team deserve to play in the MINNESOTA BIG SHOW!
Maybe, the MSHSL could do the right thing and seed 6 teams and have the next top 4 play for the 2 last spots.
Time for a change??? Something that would be great to watch for all three days.
it wasnt that long ago when silver bay actually was in the state tourneyTheNightman wrote:-White Bear Lake

Hey I want to see the Bears win in the first round, this might be the only way.
you east fans still cant come to grip that you lost to apple valley, i find it ridiculously funny, ur arguement could b said for the game where hermantown lost benilde st. margret, when the "game winning" shot for hermantown went in and out so fast that the ref didnt see but the goal judge called it a goal, and everyone knows the rest of the story, goal got called off and benilde goes onto win the tourney, karl(east) wrote:Fun topic. The no section rules gives me the freedom to do this:
Duluth East
Cloquet
Grand Rapids
Roseau
Moorhead
Apple Valley
Edina (I want East to get a shot at them--matching their 1st line vs. East's D should be fun)
White Bear Lake (hey, someone has to lose in the first round...)
First round:
Edina vs. Duluth East (Hounds win, of course)
Apple Valley vs. WBL (foregone conclusion)
Cloquet vs. Rapids (Cloquet)
Moorhead vs. Roseau (Roseau)
Semis:
Duluth East vs. Apple Valley (East wins in 6 OTs)
Cloquet vs. Roseau (Cloquet)
Finals:
Duluth East vs. Cloquet (East).
Roseau finishes 3rd; Rapids brings home the consolation trophy.

I agree the Edina - Burnsville game was the best game in march last year! Combined with the Minnetonka - Benilde game before that created quite the "state" like atmosphere.I think that a little more balance in Sections would be nice. 1AA kills me. However, it's always fun to have a couple good Sections because the finals are unbelievable games. Last year I had the most fun watching the Burnsville V Edina game down at Mariucci. I'd say that game had more of a "State" atmosphere than most of the games at the Ex.
Wow, tough crowd. I was six years old and lived in southern Wisconsin when this happened, and had no clue that either of these schools existed. I just wanted a fun little historical matchup, and I have a great deal of respect for and interest in the history of MN hockey. I am in no way bitter about something that is before my time.2good4u wrote:you east fans still cant come to grip that you lost to apple valley, i find it ridiculously funny, ur arguement could b said for the game where hermantown lost benilde st. margret, when the "game winning" shot for hermantown went in and out so fast that the ref didnt see but the goal judge called it a goal, and everyone knows the rest of the story, goal got called off and benilde goes onto win the tourney, karl(east) wrote:Fun topic. I agree. It is sad to know that some of the top rated 10 teams over the season will not make it to the State Tournament due to their Section placement.Roseauverrated wrote:In no particular order...

Eden Prairie

Jefferson (as much as I don't like them, they're still top 8 )

It really is a shame that 6 of these teams are packed into 2 sections, while any of these teams could cruise through section 1AA without their first line. Something needs to be done about sections to fix this.
