AV's 2nd line was put together after the midway point of the season and then set back by injury. They've done nothing but play well together and I would love to see their plus/minus even strength...it's very good. I just don't see them getting outplayed by Cretin's 2nd line. It's a dangerous line. We'll see...I may be wrong.

With so many upsets/close upsets this year, there is no reason to not believe that Apple Valley can beat Cretin. They shut out Woodbury because of good goaltending. I would like to see that again.

Great...it'll be fun to watch Thurs. As an AV fan I'll take my chances w/ our 2nd line.

Dang....AV has a chance, but dont

People...especially those that think this is a straight up even matchup......LOOK at records first of all, and also look at the games played by players. AV fans like to say that they just got their team going and are HEALTY now....well a couple of decent games in a row...against poor teams and a team (woodbury) that didnt play well in the sectionals doesnt make it an even matchup with a better team in Cretin.......HOPE springs eternal...and basically so does the dislike for a SPORTS power like CRETIN. AV does have a chance, but dont even think that Cretin shouldnt be a big favorite in this matchup.....they have earned that. AV has been playing alot better, WELL that always seems to happen when a GOALIE gets hot...and I have seen them play about 5 times this year....Woodbury, Eastview (sections + regular season), EP, Jefferson and Lakeville South. AV is playing with more confidence...well they did against Woodbury....but against Eastview I saw the exact same team that I saw in the regular season...AVERAGE at best.......and they didnt show a ton of this GREATNESS that so many of you all talk about....thye beat a poor Eastview team the same in the sectionals (no better no worse) than they did in the conference season, so I dont believe thay had a HUGE skill awakening.......thye just GOT a HOT Goalie against Woodbury. Cretin is a better team.......and should win, but AV always has a chance...any team can win one game........If Cretin and AV played 10 times.....well Cretin would most likley win 8 out of the 10. AV isnt STREAKING they are just riding a nice win over a TEAM (woodbury) that didnt play like they should of.

Ohh for you people that watched the Cretin-Eagan game and said Eagan dominated the 2nd period....Whatever. I was there, Cretin controlled the game......Dominating doesnt mean controlling the puck in a game that YOU are losing.

I’ll look at records, CDH is 2-0, AV is 2-0, seems pretty even. What they did before that really has no affect on this game. Woodbury may have not played well against Rosemount in the quarters but I’ll tell you this they did play well against AV in the semis. Woodbury played a very good game, both teams did. Cretin shouldn’t be a big favorite in this match. I want a logical explanation as to why you think they are this big favorite you are talking about, how have they earned that status? You continue to mention that Gretz is just a hot goalie, he has been a good goalie all year it’s not like this just came from nowhere.

The CDH-Eagan game was a lot of Cretin, but the 2nd period was an even one that was not all CDH. I know you’re a CDH fan and I’m an AV guy but really lets be a little open minded on here rather than bash one team about it’s just a hot streak blah blah blah. Give something positive to the board. It’s not like CDH had a stellar year like some of these other teams still left have had. One last thing, what’s with all of the randomly capitalized words?

The game will be a good one and is an even match-up no matter how you want to try and look at this one. Good luck to your team and enjoy the game should be fun. I wish I could make it but I’ll have to settle for listening in on MSBN.

Hey You are right...both are 2-0 in the playoffs. I am a Hockey fan first and foremost, I did like you comment about "It’s not like CDH had a stellar year like some of these other teams still left have had. ....what teams are you looking at....Cretin has had a very good season.....not like the 2006 team.....well that team wasnt supposed to beat anyone either.....first Eagan then Blaine and then Grand Forks.....I dont remember but most of those games werent close were they........

Cretin has had health issues on this team all season, and so has AV. Simple Logic dictates that Cretin is a big favorite (hmm 12-3 in the last 2 months...while AV is 3-6 in the last month and that includes the great 2 game streak in the sections). Also, you AV people think that Woodbury was this great team...well The Royals had to beat WBL on the last night to win the SEC...and you know who would of tied them for the title if they lost....you got it Cretin.

This has been a fun year for the playoffs....excellent upsets.......So lots of fun......I like upsets, and as I said.....any team can win one game....as St Paul Johnson proved against Tartan.....So AV can win, but I am saying that they are a sizable underdog...Cretin is a better team, so dont let passion sway you from that......AV is the dog, NOT the favorite. If AV wins it is an excellent win, and if Cretin wins well it is a good win, not because AV is as great as you guys think...but because the Raiders get to play at the X, and the same thing goes for AV...it is a excellent win because they played their best hockey so they could get to the X.

Good Luck AV......you will need some excellent play and some breaks to beat Cretin. Ohh yeah Gretz isnt a super goalie all year.......I saw several games when he looked like he vacuum behind him.....sucking pucks into the net.........He didnt have a super save percentage......

I hope that I am under-estimating the Eagles...I would love to see Cretin have a tough game on the way to the X......so they dont get to over-confident for the X.

AS I mentioned in several posts I have seen AV play 7 games this season.......more than most of you jokers posting how great AV is.......So I know how they play.......and I know how Cretin plays...been to 15 Cretin games.......Cretin is the better team and should win...and the fact that I am a Cretin guy doesnt matter....if Cretin was playing against Jefferson I wouldnt even think to say that Cretin wasnt the major dog in that contest...So AV people stop thinking this is an even matchup...it isnt. It is basically like Cretin playing Jefferson......You are a decided dog.......and just use that.......if you want think of Cretin as the EVIL empire........that is how most schools view them anyways.......tell yourself that they recruit.......that is why they are better.......Do whatever you have to...to get yourselves PUMPED and thinking that you can win......YOU can win...it just isnt as great of a chance as Cretin has....that is why you are the UNDERDOG.

Cretin has kind of flown under the radar this year. I saw them play against STA and DM and they played like two completely different teams. This one could go either way. Ill say...

Apple Valley 3
Cretin 2

Neither team will go very far in the state tournament.

Ill go with Apple Valley 6-4

Good luck to the Eagles!! Stay out of the box and you have a very good chance to get the dub. Too many penalties and it could be a long night. Score first please!!

He's not even listed as one of their top scorers.

DC represent.

I'm out here going to grad school. Got friends coming out for the Frozen-4 and headed to St. Paul next week for the Tourney. Makes it extra sweet that CDH won.

CDH Alum

You from MN Karl?

Great game by both teams very close and even, either one of these teams could have represented this section at state next week. Good luck Cretin as you advance on and to the Eagles, keep your heads up you played one heck of a game.
