Rosemount - Super team moves on to peewees, although squirt success doesn't always indicate peewee success, first year players will add to one of the best forwards in D8 and one of its top goalies.
I have heard there are a number of "B1 to A" level players that have moved into the Rosemount Associaiton both at the Peewee and Bantam levels - lots of new homes in this area. Could make for an even better team.

top peewee a in state

Didnt they divide into north and south to accomodate the new high school? Has something changed?

So - Who is this new coach?
High School coach is Aaron Forsythe (3rd year coaching, former Forest Lake player, 4 years Mankato state, 3 yrs ECHL. Very involved with the youth program)
Bantam Coach is Tom Eilek (coached last years Bantam A's)

No way will Lakeville only have 1 A team at each level......Board members don't care about developing players and a winning program.....roll the lines, right up and through power plays, etc.....North and South coaches differ on this stratety.........North coaches........no coaching........South coaches.........play to win.........develop players in practice so that they can compete on the ice during games.........I'm talking strictly Pee Wee A/b and above here........not squirts.......

Roo was second year Bantam last season and will be a first year Totino Grace freshman next year. Not a good sign for the CR program. Great player with all of the tools. Looked outstanding at the Advanced 15's........

The Teams

Here are my thoughts on Bantam A:
-Edina (always has a good team with this group of to-be second years. Won it 2 years ago)
-Wayzata (great coaching, defending champs. but they may struggle without a few of their star players who will leave to play varsity/JV. 3rd two years ago)
-Grand Rapids (Solid group of kids who got 2nd place two years ago)
-Eden Prairie (very good team. 4th place 2 years ago)
-Roseau (just a lot of big kids who play mean hockey)

actually roseau wont have size at bantams this season. i would state roseau more like this will be young but highly skilled.

i think all you people are forgeting about eagan. In peewees the had a nice run beating wayzata and other good teams. they are solid at the blue line and have crafty and big fowards. goal tending is a problem for them but they are a solid team. ponchode could be a big threat at center

Excuse me? Nice first post.

Eagan's Bantam A team was very strong but led by 2nd year players. Eagan's PeeWee A team, where I'm assuming you're suggesting replacements will come from, was weak. They got smoked by Minneapolis-Park, 10-4, a team that did win regions and went to state but ended up ranked 27th. Eagan PWA ended up 42.

I've looked around but haven't found any mention of Rogers yet.
Their Bantam team supposedly had a great year last year (according to lets play hockey), but the pee wee team was ok. Maybe they'll have another great year for the Bantam team if they get enough 2nd years who were on the team as 1st years last year.
Hope this isn't too confusing.

no particular order

see how much peewees counts when they are Bantams most of the "could be squads" stay also rans save this one for March 2010

Coon Rapids will lose too many of there players and no coaching
Coon Rapids is getting a solid coach for the A bantams moving from a JV position to coach A bantams so they should be good to go

Who is it?

And why does a JV coach make a Bantam A team better?

I never once said he will make the Bantam A team better but he will know how to keep them motivated for a full season and not just motivated for the beginning of the season. Can't think of his name off the top of my head if I remember it I will post it

Call me crazy but if he is going to make an impact I would guess everyone would know his name.

Too many internal issues at Coon Rapids.

Coon Rapids has gone through a High School coaching transition in the past couple of years which will take some time for him to turn the program around. The JV coach may not be known to everyone due to the changes, but if it is the coach who I think it is the team will be better coached with this group of kids than years past. I am not saying they will win Districts, but the players will gain knowledge from this individual unlike the past. If, they brought back the coaching staff that took the Bantams to State years back, then yes they would be solid, but like Fire and Ice commented there are internal issues which indirectly ousted this coach out of coaching/board member position. The reason because his son open enrolled at a different high school. The 1 Board member that demanded him to vacant his coaching/board position for this reason 2 years later did the samething and is STILL on the Board. Thats one of the internal issues and its not only in our association, but this individual should be relieved of his position also. Good luck to the new A Bantam coach as he has a good and talented group of kids
