I don't believe that any association that doesn't run an A team should be able to have their B1 team ranked. If Chisago is running an A Bantam team, then forgive me, but I don't think they do.

Wasnt that the case last year with Sauk Rapids- no A team and ended up winning state? The previous year, Blake had no A team and won state?

I think you're right...but I still don't like it. There's an element of "sandbagging" going on, IMO. Most of these associations have A-level players on these B1 teams, so I find it hard to pad them on the back for beating teams that don't have any A-level players on them.

I completely get the dilemna of the small association, heck, I belong to one. If we didn't field A teams, we would also be pretty d@mn good at the B1 level. But our philosophy is that having your best players play B hockey (especially at the Bantam level) doesn't help prepare them for competing at the high school level. Just my opinion.

Elk River = 2
Centennial = 2
Very good game to watch elk rivers goals were both pp goals. Both teams had good speed. Centennial goalie played well Elk river out shot centennial a bit 26-21 or something close to that.

I watched this game, along with the game that followed between Eagan Green and Farmington.

Lakeville North had good size. Eagan blue is filled with skaters, but are quite small, so Lakeville's physical play took them out of the game.

Eagan Green outplayed Farmington far more than the 4-2 score. I susect shots were in the 30-10 in favor of Eagan. It was difficult to tell how good they are based on this game, but they are posting some decent wins in scimmages. Eagan Green doesn't have any huge kids, but they seem to play fairly physical, and move the puck well.

The upcoming tournaments will be the proving ground for all of these teams.... But Lakeville North looks very impressive. I think they will be in the mix!

Since Chiscago doesn't run an A team, you need to take these victories with a grain of salt. Guaranteed, they have some A level players, while Centennial Black is their 3rd team and no A calibre players on their roster.

Osseo Maple Grove Crimson 8
Minneapolis Park 1

MPLS Park has play 4 of the top 10 teams ranked in LPH.
They all beat us up pretty good, but Eden Prairie was the strongest. Of the 4 we played I would rank them

EP
Wayzata Blue
Edina Green
OMG Crimson

D6 action last night.

EP 2
Prior lake 0

It was 1-0 with 2 seconds left and EP got a open net. It was a total domination for the EP team but couldn't score....

EP out shot them 55-3.

The 2nd period alone was 20-0 for shots The goalie for PL played incredible...looked like the game of his life. If he didn't make the saves - it could have easily been 10-0.

Not sure if I am happier for my EP team or the PL goalie..! :)
