Snowmass wrote:The EP tourney coming up in a couple weeks should be a good gauge of the B-1 teams...should answer alot of questions:
EP Black & Red, Wayzata Blue, Navy & Gold, Edina White, Farmington, Eagan, Chaska/Chanhassen, Osseo/Maple Grove (not sure which color), ST. Cloud Black and Westfort(where/who?).
Westfort is a PeeWee AA team out of Thunder Bay, ONT. The Osseo/Mple Grove team is the Crimson.

You should havre a good idea where the Westfort team fits in that tournament after seeing how the 2 Thunder Bay teams, Elks 82s and KC Sabres fare this weekend in the Mounds View tourney. Elks is probably the top team in their league with Westfort second. KC is currently 6th in the 6 team league
Norwest Stars from Thunder Bay didn't win a game in the A tourney in Superior this weekend.

some things shootyoureyesout said are wrong like st.cloud red beat st.cloud black 5-3 and sauk rapids beat st.cloud red 4-0 not 11-0.

It was a poor profromance for st.cloud but they are in the ship in the minneapolis toury at the parade ice garden.

Both Thunder Bay teams in the championship although Roseville outshot Elks in the one semi. Westfort should be competitive in the Eden Prairie tourney although they are missing their top player.

Never posted scores for St. Cloud teams - I said Sauk Rapids beat Rogers 11 - 0.

shootyoureyeout wrote:1. Edina Green - undefeated. Closest games was 5 to 2 win over OMG Crimson.
2. OMG Gold - beat Edina White in scrimmage but not on Edina's website. Tied and beat Wayzata Blue.
3. Wayzata Blue - beat Elk River and OMG Crimson
4. Edina White - only one loss.
5. OMG Crimson - only losses to #1, #2, #3 and #4. Won Mankato tourney.
6. Roseville - undefeated but hasn't played a contender yet - only a one goal win against MoundsView. Roseville could be a team to contend for state tournament.
7. Woodbury Blue - only loss to OMG Crimson.
8. Wayzata Gold - team is better than record. If they figure it out they can play with anyone.
9. Burnsville - with only one PWB1 team they should be better than record.
10. Rosemount Blue - only loss is to Edina White.
Honorable Mentions - Elk River (should be better than season-to-date record), Centennial (with only one B1 team they need to do more than beating Mora and Chisago Lakes to crack top 10), Eagan (took 2nd in Mankato), Forest Lake (tight game against OMG Gold in SLP championship), Hopkins, both Eden Prairie teams and it should be expected that both of these teams win a lot games and crack the top 10, Sauk Rapids only game was a 11 to 0 win over Rogers, Blaine, St. Cloud Red, no info on Lakeville teams.
Side comment: Edina, Wayzata and OMG could have gone with two A-teams - upper and a lower and the lower teams would have been competitive outside of the top 10 or 15 A-teams.
Good list but Edina white may struggle due to players leaving and B1 players moving to A

Please Clarify: Edina White PeeWee B1 players leaving (quit midseason)? Players moved up to A midseason?

Good point. Not one team (other than Sauk Rapids, which is really an A team) from North in top 20. Hard to believe.

Not really. Several small towns only have 12-15 tryout, that is their A team.

With district 11 going with "even" b teams insead of b1/b2 it has been tough to get a strong b team. Duluth East Black has been handling the rest of the district pretty easily though. Not sure how they have fared against the rest of the state.

OMG Gold, which would be great if they & Edina meet. OMG Gold is excellent squad. OMG Crimson is in the EP tournament, along with all 3 Wayzata teams. That should be a good tourney too.
Top 10 teams

Not too much movement over the past few weeks to indicate that top teams identified earlier in the year were incorrect. Could see some changes with the upcoming weekend tournaments. Eden Prairie tournament will host Edina White, Wayzata Gold and Blue, OMG Crimson and Eagan to name a few top teams. This tourney will provide some teams to crack the Top 10 if they can beat some of these teams.
We will get a look at some of the northern teams this weekend as Hermantown will host Duluth East, Edina Green, OMG Gold, Elk River and Cloquet.
Woodbury is hosting Sauk Rapids, OMG Orange, Burnsville, Roseville and Stillwater Black. This will give Sauk Rapids a chance to prove that their talent coincides with their win/loss record.
Top 10
PeeWee B1
1 Edina Green - will be on top until someone beats them.
2 OMG Gold - beat Wayzata Blue handily in SLP tourney.
3 Roseville
4 Wayzata Blue
5 Edina White - 5 to 2 loss to Shakopee hurt.
6 OMG Crimson - beat Wayzata Gold 3 to 2
7 Sauk Rapids - need to beat a top team to crack top 5.
8 Stillwater Black
9 Wayzata Gold - talented team but struggling to put it together
10 Shakopee - beating of Edina White puts them in Top 10
Honorable mentions: Centennial, Burnsville, OMG Orange, Eagan Blue, Rochester Red, Woodbury Blue, EP Black, Woodbury Blue, Rosemount Blue and Elk River.
Overall, other than Edina Green, the PeeWee B1 is fairly balanced and should be competitive up until the state tournament.
