They played very very well in the first. As soon as they started taking penalties the game changed. Too many coincidentals put some of their best players in the box late in the game. Of course not. Nothing ever hurts BJ's rankings. Their long history and current depths of talent more than make up for a couple of losses to previously unranked teams.

Centennial was ranked 20 by LPH. And they just spanked BSM 7-2, so a TIE, yes tie, to that team isn't a terrible game. It isn't a loss on their record, and it shouldn't be. Shootouts are a terrible way to determine the outcome of a game. So "BJ" only has 1 loss to a previously unranked team.

The missing 2 guys on defense wouldn't make a difference unless it was Faust or Pauluk. They play the majority of the game, the other guys are basically out only when they need a breather. They logged massive time last night.

Toptitty, it was only disappointing because they lost. I agree though, they played pretty well. But if they wouldn't have been in the box so much then they would have won. It's disappointing to see something like stupid penalties get in the way of a victory.

It was a really entertaining game to watch, though. I think it's important Jefferson plays in close games like these so they gather experience for sections. Last year their weak schedule hurt them in playoffs. I'm excited to see what they can do against Wayzata on the 7th (Which is a terrible date to schedule such a great game. It's the National Championship night, the rink will be empty.)

Agreed. Penalties have been hurting them the whole year, especially becaue half the penalties are taken by their best players. They play with intensity but sometimes the intensity carries over after the whistle and puts them in the box, and I hope Lindquist gets it under control because they can do so much with this season if they quit taking penalties and let the other team take a few instead. I'm also excited to see the matchup against Wayzata. We'll see if anyone shows to the rink. They seem to have a packed student section every time so I would think the rink won't get too quiet.
