A couple of posters exposing some ignorance ITT....

Wow, really? We're not that naive, are we?

When a goalie at a team like Simley (not a very good de core) sees 35+ shots, the shots will generally be better shots.
When a goalie at a team like Hill (stronger de core) see 5-25 shots, the shots are really whatever doesn't get through.

The shots Simley's goalie gets are much better than Hill's goalie gets. A save percentage that's the same at Simley is better than at Hill.

You could put me in net at Tonka and shots would still get stopped. Not at Kennedy.

So after reading this my first reaction was somewhere along the lines of, "You're an idiot." I think that's the nice way to put it. Ignorance is bliss my friend. Not trying to bash Shaughnessy at all, he is a solid goaltender (though saying he is the best in the country is a VERY large stretch), but how many quality scoring chances does any team get against H-M? I haven't seen the Simley kid, but to put up anything above 90% on that many shots night in and out is something worth noting.

I was trying to say that hill is an elite team in the state and probably the country. I wasn't trying to say that shaughnessy is one of the top goalies in the country. I can see what you guys mean though when you discuss the quality of the shots. I guess that I didn't take that into consideration.

I have seen some Simley hockey games this year. And every time i go there is a good amount of breakaways, and 2 on 1s, and 3 on 1s against simley.

And Simley plays Hill tonight so lets see what Nelson can save another 60 shots.

It's really too bad how goalies who play for less than average teams don't get any recognition. You look at this Nelson kid or the goalie for Mound-Westonka, who have a terrible supporting cast, and how they easily would make the varsity teams at Hill or STA. Put Shaunessy or however you spell it or Alrichter in the pipes for Simley and I GUARENTEE neither would be able to stop 90% of the shots.

They're so used to only getting 20 (less than average) shots a game that, in my opinion, neither would be able to stand up to the task in stopping 50.

Hopefully this Nelson kid gets some recognition, and hope to see him playing junior puck next year.

Hard to know for sure...... I do believe all four will be playing in some form at the next level and it should be easier to see who is better..
Remember you have to be pretty good to be CHOSEN to play at those privates.

Nelson is a beast. enough said.
