I saw Coatta too. He's not everything but what I like about him is he's always ready to shoot in the O zone. He had great play makers for linemates. He finds open spots in the slot, and in front of the net, and is ready. Stick on the ice or cocked. After seeing him a couple of times this season I'll bet half his goals were on one timers off beautiful passes from Gardiner. Being ready is a big deal as many players are not.

The District 2 Advanced 15 team was a total joke last year. Talk about politics. District 2 board members getting their own kids on it LOL.

District 2 may have won the Advanced 15 Festival last year if I'm not mistaken. A very strong team. There are always politics involved in selecting any team but it seems like they did a good job of getting the right kids out of District 2 for the Advance 15 Festival. D2 also sent several 94s to St. Cloud for the top 110 94 players. I just looked for the roster but couldn't find it.
Advanced 16 and 17 is done by high school section so a little reshuffling this year.

Just for clarification, Lance Carney was on varsity for WBL last year, and Neal Burke was on WBL A Bantams. Cates split time between Stillwater JV and varsity.
Sam Becker is from H-M. I thought he played mostly varsity, but ended JV. DeBace played Roseville varsity. The others with no team, I am not sure.
With Skoog and Cates, District 2 has a couple of solid goaltenders that performed well at varsity.

Are you confusing Sam with his older brother, Kevin Becker?
Is Advanced 15 correct? Not 16?
Some of these guys are 1994's who played on the national 15 team last year.

No... Sam is at H-M.. I am pretty sure that when WBL played H-M, he was on the varsity roster - assuming 4th line. He does show up on JV, too, so maybe he just skated JV...

I'm not sure how Skoog is the goalie for Section 2. Forest Lake is Section 7 and he didn't make the section 7 team.

Also Clinton Franklin, he made the Section 7 team, not Section 2.

I should have looked closer. Who ever posted the roster, it's last years district 2, not section 2 roster. If you look at the top- 2009 District 2 Roster

Good call, Booman.... I just ran into two kids from WBL at Maplewood Mall yesterday that are A Bantams and said they just had initial tryouts, and there were to be notified as to the 30-player cut down.

When are section 4AA/A tryouts?
Should be a strong group.
Has anyone seen the Advanced 17 roster from 6AA/A which had their tryouts two weeks ago? This should also be a very strong group.

I am pretty sure it was posted in response to the post re: the politics surrounding the 15's. Looking at the list posted I don't see familiar board member names, but I don't know them all.
The responses regarding who played varsity this season, I would think, were to show that it wasn't political and that the kids they chose were of the caliber to contribute at varsity. I know the Forest Lake kids all contributed at the varsity level, and that's a bit of an understatement.

It looks like no one wants to play with s/w mn
If district 4 only has :
Fairmont
Luverne
Marshall
Redwood Falls
Sleepy Eye
Windom
Worthington Cottage Grove
in it will they have enough players to put together an Adv 15 team next year?
