No 95s on either Shattuck or Breck varsity.
Maybe Cammaratta from OMG on Shattuck Bantam Tier 1?

if you're going through A15's this year, be prepared to see alot of surprises. I can guarantee there are kids out there who you have never seen or heard of in your life that will not only make St Cloud, they will make the national camp. There are also players who you think are very very good who won't even make the district team. D10 cannot simply select the entire Elk River roster, (example), they will spread the wealth and a kid that maybe you think should make it, won't.

The reality exists that there indeed are hockey players that aren't a Blade, Machine, Hornet or Trojan. The reality exists also that the best kid from middleofnoplace, MN may be the 8th best kid if he were from Duluth, but he will move along in the process. In the end, you'll find that the top 7 or 8 no brainers will make it, the next 7 or 8 will be obvious and the next 25 will be interchangeable...very much like any tryout.

Minnesota Hockey does a very good job at taking over 250 kids and dwindling it down to 20

I concur with Jancze5. It's similar at 16s & 17s.

Goalie tryouts get to me though. What is hard to do for skaters in a quick tryout is even tougher for goaltenders. Almost invariably, in every district, they'll pick one goalie because of his "team pedigree" and his pretty pads and leave a more deserving kid home. Watch.

But, all things considered, MN hockey does do a pretty good job. It's tough to be perfect in a short tryout at any level.

Does a player attend the A15 tryout where their school is located, or does MN Hockey require a player to tryout with the district where a player lives?

I have to chuckle at this because a parent was saying if you want to be noticed wear something VERY different or more colorful than other players and he will stand out. Could have a effect on how much a player is viewed?

15s/95s are based on residence. You are invited by the youth hockey association district where your player resides.

16s and 17s, 94s and 93s, are based on school and the tryouts are managed by the high school sections.

It's science! You have to know when to stand out and when to blend in. :D

I get a kick out of the kids who show up at tryouts wearing their Elite Classic/Super Series/AAA jerseys and socks....Basically, what they are saying is "look at me, I'm really, really good because I'm wearing this jersey!"

I bet I can make a list of 10-15 kids that will make the National camp. There are always one to three surprises that make the squad.

This should be fun. I finally registered and here is my post:

Here is a short list. I know I will miss quite a few.

Forwards (all varsity unless it says something else)

Fasching - AV
Cammaratta-Shattuck Tier 1
Hartley-Holy Angels
Lettieri-Minnetonka Bantams
Moore-Benilde
Tascano -Duluth East Bantams
Voltin-Hill Murray j.v.
Peterson-Grand Rapids
(Is Bischoff of GR a 94 or 95?)

Defensemen

Reno-Edina
Raskob-Shattuck Tier 1
Gross-OMG Bantams
Meyer-New Prague
Petrizewski-South St. Paul

Other strong candidates: Labosky (Benilde);Brodzinzki (Blaine) Okeson, Broten, Yon (all Roseau), Adler (Anoka); Sheehy (B-ville); Reibling (Holy Family), Spinner (Eden Prairie); Vanneli (Chaska); Heinrich (Hill Murray jv); Swingle (Cathedral)

That list looks pretty good. It looks like the Top '95 Defensmen are Reno, Raskob, and Gross. Is McCoshen trying out in Minnesota?

For forwards I would add John Wiitala from Lakeville South, and for defensemen #6 from East Grand Forks, not sure of the name.

This is basically the roster of the Blades U14 team that played at the NAHL Future Prospects tourney last Sept and the 95 Breakaway team...hard to argue with any on the list.

I'm sure they'll be a couple of surprises when the final roster is posted, though.

I don't know Jack Schmidt. Does he play with Seymour Butz?

Jack's brother "Bull" has appeared many times on this board

I agree this is a strong list, but I would have to say the top 2 forwards listed are a lock the rest is up in the air

I believe Peterson and For sure Bishoff are 94's. both from Grand Rapids.

#6 from EGF is Ausmus
