Iverson-Breck FW/Def
Witala-Breck Def
Poganski-St. Cloud-FW
Hammer-St. Cloud-FW
Zerban-Elk River-FW

9th graders from the 96 MN Blades that are playing
alot and playing well. Will be studs when they are junior/seniors.

Shane Gersich from the Holy Family Fire is the stud of the 96 group. He is only an 8th grader. On the Frosh scoring report, he is the 3rd leading scorer in the State among all 8th and 9th graders!! I heard he had 5 goals in his game last Friday night. 10 goals and 10 assists in 12 games. Impressive.

5 goals is pretty good. Who was it against, Edina?

Gersich had 7pts versus Waconia last week.

In my opinion, Gersich and Iverson are the top 96's in the state

I realize that you're trying to promote your boys at Wayzata but this topic is specifically about FRESHMEN and SOPHOMORES that are future varsity stars, not players on your team that are good and are juniors and seniors.

Definately johnson from hibbing. You cant even argue that one.

I think including bantam players in the conversation is a must. Not all good young players choose to move to high school early. Rau, Camaranisi and Lucia are just a few examples of kids that played two years of bantams. Sometimes first isn't necessarily best.

Taylor Cammarata from Shattuck (Maple Grove kid) has been just tearing it up. IMO, him and Fasching are clearly the current best Sophmore-age players in the State with Guentzel and Lavalle (HM), Brodzinski (Blaine), Coatta and Lettieri (Minnetonka) in that next group. Labosky and Moore from BSM could also be in that next group.

I've seen Adam Johnson play as a Bantam in one game a few years back. Looked pretty good, but seems to have improved quite a bit since I last watched him.

Anyone know where Rem Pitlick is going to school next year? Staying @ Wayzata or going to BSM?

I know his dad Lance. He is looking to become a high school coach.
Has been negotiating with Providence, Breck and Benilde. Doesn't want his son to play for current Wayzata HS regime.

Breck could use his kid.

Agreed on Cammarata. 97 points in 35 games. He's something else.

I think these "best player" threads should only be allowed in the youth forum and should really be ignored altogether. They are ridiculous.

As far as the '95's go, the players recently went through the select 15 process and were evaluated on a district and state level by USA hockey evaluators. Maybe not perfect, but a well organized process which sent some players on to the National camp in New york last July. Maybe start there.
