And that last penalty was not malicious--frustration for sure but not a hard hit. H Hill went into the boards a lot harder than that just a minute earlier on a hit from behind by the HM defenseman (also a penalty). I'm not a White Bear booster by any means, but I'd ask again to just leave this kid alone once and for all.

Sorry to say, unfortunately, I don't think people will leave her alone unless she cleans up her game...I was at the game and it was obvious that she can't keep up with Brandt and resorts to cheap play. These types of players come after my daughter at the U14A level too and it is very frustrating... I don't want my child to get hurt... It would be different if checking was allowed in girls hockey and the girls were READY to take a hit but it isn't the case so it DOES ges a little scary for the girls who play fair and hard!

I'm actually rather glad she *could* play - I don't wish injuries or illnesses on any kid.

I suppose the snark was directed more to the people (parents?) who blew up a fairly insignificant incident into an national news story, for Pete's sake! Maybe next time take a deep breath and find out the details before jumping to conclusions.

Back to the Thoroughbreds? Trying to figure out how all of that works. I thought being rostered on 2 teams was a no no.

As long as you are on the high school roster by the 3rd or 4th Monday of the season you are eligible. She could be taken off the Thourghbred roster and put on the high school roster by this time with no problem.

In my opinion, history will prove Hannah Brandt to be the best female hockey player to ever come out of Minnesota and one of the best in the country and the world as well. And to think that she is not done with her development yet. Wow!

I love Hannah but my vote will always be for Krissy Wendell.

Krissy Wendell would chew her up and spit her out. Krissy had all the tools. Brandt who has a lot of nice tricks in her bag is a very nice player but lacks explosive speed. Which is generally major component in the higher levels for super Stardom. She will do well in her college career. I don't think her signature toe pulls moves will be as effective at the next level. A player with speed who can blow by a defense inside or outside is more effective.

I believe Rachel Bona from Coon Rapids would be considered closer to a Wendell type player. She plays in a much tougher conference than what Hill Murray ( (The bottom four in that conference are ABSOLUTELY terrible). Bona is clearly this years Hockey Stud. The gophers got a great one their.

As far as the best upcoming player in the world. The Marie Philip Poulin girl from Canada who is now a Freshman at BU. Wow, now there is a hockey player. You have to also look at Amanda Pelkey from NAHA. She is a 93 who has all the tools. Played on the U-18 for three years. She was on there when she was fifteen. Wow

Congratulations to Roseville...Should be a good match up. Brodt is a class act to see how he talks to his kids before during and after the game others should behave as professionally.

I also love Bona but I would give the edge to Lorence, Kuehl and my sleeper Michelettti and let's not forget Sylvester and Reber. Yes eveyone I know there are more that could be listed.

Remember the Gophers already have top 6-9 forwards and then you add Lorence and Anderson and if they red shirt West it'll be hard to find playing time. Kuehl will step right in at OSU and be a top 3-6 forward. Now if Bona would have chosen OSU .

Good luck to both Roseville and HM it's going to be a great game. Please don't be mad Roseville but and I can't believe I'm going going to say it but I think I'd like to see WBL SE (HM) make it this time.

Is this the year for HM? They've been knocking on the door for a long time now and this isn't the same Roseville team as last year. That said, the Raiders are defending champs and deserve to be considered the favorite. McKeever will need another huge game and HM will need to avoid their normal 2nd period swoon that was all too common this year. Good luck to both teams and I look forward to a great game tonight.
