I would agree with on the standpoint that the top teams in this tournament are not as strong as it normally seems. Usually the top 1-3 teams in the tournament are able to play with the best in AA but I don't get that feeling this year.

That said, I do think it is a much more level playing field in A this year which should make for a better tournament than most years.

This is probably the weakest talent pool in quite a few years. Normally there are 4-5 top notch DI recruits and/or stacked/deeper teams. There is no Brock Nelson, Ryan Walters, Drew LeBlanc, Ben Hanowski, Ben Marshall, Jared Festler, Nate Schmidt, Nico Sachetti, Matt Niskanen, Jordan Schroeder, Jack Connelly, Mike Louwerse, Michael Forney, TJ Oshie, Josh Birkholz and the list goes on and on....

But...it's up in the air this year. I don't think it's going to be quite as unpredictable as 2009, but there should be closer hockey games this year. Even New Ulm can play some good hockey when they're in the mood.

Hermantown and STAcould compete with any of the top AA teams in state. No debate in that...

Heck maybe even lourdes or hibbing

So Maybe the more entertaining question is...
Whos gonna take a bigger 1st round beating?

New Ulm or Alexandria
