They know how to tell people what to w/ their kids. I think the people of Edina can figure out how to run a good hockey assc. Oh that's right, they already did!!!!

Get a life people.
I'm on record disagreeing with Elliot on this matter when it was Roseau under the spotlight. I'm not arguing that the kids should be allowed to play more or less than 35 games; I simply don't understand the idea of USAH or MH going through all the policies and procedures necessary to create a rule and incorporate it into the handbook, then the DDs do whatever they want. If it shouldn't be a rule, then take it out of the handbook; if it should be a rule, then enforce it. That goes for all of the rules, not just the 35 game limit on squirts - A teams playing B teams, locker room policy, etc., etc. Personally, I think the DDs have way too much power - which, as I've said many times, is perfectly OK if you have a benevolent leader like Elliot, but if not, your only recourse is to pack up and move.

and I guess they did that all on their own--no guidence from MH or USHA. Maybe they should call themselves the IEHF--(independent Edina Hockey Factory)

Because they are so good we will allow them 6 extra games? Is this a Minnesota Hockey rule or District 6? Do clubs just police themselves with this rule?
If you factor in the fact that most of this team's games went to running time, they probably played less than 35!
for sure - they are being cheated out of ice time! no run time!

Juice- I like the fact that Edina is strong enough to say who cares what USAH says. I only wish Forest Lake was as strong. 41 or 35 games is not the point. We can spin this thing back to the no checking or whatever.

85--I agree, I'm not a big USAH backer, but MH has put forth rules and policies, and if assc. start to pick and choose which policies they are going to follow, it will eventually lead to a total break down of the best run hockey program in the country.

The rumor is that Edina went to D6 earlier in the year before they went over their limit and told D6 they were going to go over their limit because they didn't think about all the extra games from playing in the championship games of all the tourneys (hard to believe since they didn't lose). This was before they even went to Fargo. D6 apparently gave them the ok and they got to break the rule with the approval of D6. What brad and d6 are apparently not bright enough to figure out is that you can't treat teams differently. For all squirt teams next year, have at it. They can do no worse to you next year than what they did to Edina--nothing. For the record, I am all for squirts playing more ages, but I am more for everyone having to play by the same rules.
