Was Lettieri deserving making the team this year? Didn't make it last year which really has no bearing. Lettieri led Minnetonka in scoring for most of the year. Didn't see him play this past year. Congrats to Lettieri for working that much harder to make the team this year. Good example for all players to keep your head up if you don't make it. I'm pretty sure that is the case. In the USNTDP tryout he went up against a NHL Players kid, A NHL gm's relative and a goalie phenom from Michigan that attends local USNTP goalie camps. I also think that would have been a great idea. I don't think Miska was one of the top two over the weekend, but overall deserves it. Not only is Nanne a great multisport athlete, he has great character too. A sophomore, playing in the Lake, leading his squad (a top ten team by the way). This alone made him a "for sure" to make this team. Louie Nanne from Edina made the 17s and earned that spot too. Nice to say Grandpa Lou helped 'stuff the ballots' for the grandkids, but their efforts speak for themselves and they earned their way onto these teams. Congrats to both.
