Goalie, Alex Murray from Silver Bay, that is great for the Mariners! Not many kids in that program, which makes it all the better for Alex to make this team. Best of luck to Alex.

Where's Glover, Norman and Nanne my opinion the three of the better players in the state. And Zerban as an alternate is a joke.

It's not a perfect process. Several very good hockey players did not even make it to St. Cloud (for whatever reason) and as with previous years there are many talented players that did not get selected to participate in the national camp. And so it goes. It's a mere moment in time. Keep plugging away. We won't know for several years who the "best of" in this age group will be. My money is on someone from Canada or Russia

Not to be negative, but Select 15's are meaningless in the grand scheme of things.

The only year that matters is 17's.

I think that this process is somewhat flawed... watched most of the camp, kept stats and do not agree with some of the picks! Keep your head up boys hockey is a political monster!

Norman did not try out.
And from what I saw
Glover looked ok but nothing special, it took me over half of the game I saw to realize that Nanne was playing. As for Zerban the only reason I saw was he did not move the puck.

For those that got over looked maybe this will help....at the same age Justin Kloos didn't even make the district 8 team, never even had the chance to play in the tournament. The select process creates heart ache every year but its not the end of the world if you don't make it.

Well said. Just kids, talent will change significant the next few years. Those with talent that spend time in the driveway and as a rink rat will become the real players.

I'm still amazed by the kids who weren't even invited to tryout in their home district, or if they did tryout didn't make the district team, and than making it to the camp in St. Cloud. Congrats to Lau, the kid's got a knack for finding the net. The Blaine goalie, at alternate, is very strong. Blaine's going to be very tough for the next several years at the high school level, glad we aren't in their section.

Did Andrew Lindgren not tryout at goalie? These other kids must be phenomenal if he didn't even make alternate.

As far as the goalies go, I wasn't there. But what tends to happen with goalies is as much a factor of their resume' than anything else. Once they get to a certain level, it is very difficult to find much difference between goalies when you have such a short span of time to evaluate. Also, there are surprisingly few individuals who know how to evaluate goalies. What I see on paper is that the 2 goalies they picked were the only ones on high school teams (vs bantams) - thus a good resume. Having watched some of them in the past, was surprised with who they didn't pick. But then again, I am not a goalie evaluator...lol.

I was at almost every game ! Codos to the boys on making 15's this is a BIG DEAL !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! be proud ! you will always find some parents jealous of your hard work !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Good luck to the fine young men...

I'm sure all of those chosen are deserving of such an honor - I don't think anyone is disputing that. It takes a tremendous amount of hard work and talent (but a little good luck and connections don't hurt either). Who would be jealous of hard work . Forums are for discussions and opinions - everyone is entitled to that. I love how when people don't agree, they must be jealous, or bitter, or whatever. How about just someone who respectfully disagrees? I'm sure these boys will rep MN hockey well.

evaluating players is like most things in life, its a matter of one persons opinion. we all have different opinions. These differnt opinions reflect what skills we as evaluators veiw as more important then peers, which will enable a player to succeed at the level being assessed.

more objective, honest and above board than anything else in Minnesota hockey

All the boys that went to St.Cloud should be proud of themselves and the boys that are moving on to New york congratulations ! I think the whole process was handled very fairly from start to finish!

Interesting development, Tyler Nanne was not not listed as making the team or as an alternate but is listed on the Grey teams roster at the national camp.

Noticed Glover is on a team in new york and he was not listed as an alternate, I just looked again and the alternates of cass, wolff, and zerban are not listed on a team but there are people who did not make alternate nanne and glover maybe others.....how does this work, anyone thats been thru this have any insight????
