Lets take into consideration the competition (or lack there of) he has faced.

He is good & has great size and I believe did well in the Fall. Just wouldn't get too carried away with his stats against his current schedule. Be interesting to see what lies ahead for the kid.

Weaker competition true but he is all they have also. Put him on a better team with better competition he still shines, look at his Elite stats.

From what I heard is leaving high school right now and has joined the Fargo Force. Can anyone confirm?

Interesting. He didn't play this last weekend, I guess we'll see.

Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

I am a Govie for life but that would not make me want to watch them as much this year, especially since they are so decent despite having an 8th grade goalie. :(

My last hope (as the program dies its slow death) is that the goalie goes on to bigger and better things. This all makes me very sad as Herb Brooks' alma mater continues to die.

I wish Jay all the best. His dad was never a bad instructor at Johnson when I was there. Even led Thomas Tapeh to the NFL. I wish the family all the best.

Looks like it is true. Dickman to the Force. Interesting timing. Although it sounds like he is going to finish HS hockey first.

If he's finishing HS hockey first, this kind of becomes a non story. There'll be plenty of seniors joining the USHL after the HS season.

Still though, I'm interested to see how he transitions to the USHL. If he adjusts quickly, he'd become one of the bigger college prospects in the country.

Well, Jay has 51 points (35 goals, 15 helpers) in 23 games played this year.

I don't care what anyone says, those are just darn nice numbers. And they have played steady teams this year, not just a bunch of garbage. Two games left now.

Let's see if any colleges show interest or if he goes USHL following this season.

Dickman with 4 goals and an assist yesterday on Senior night. Finishes the season with 61 points (42G, 19A) in 25 games. Finishes third in the league in scoring behind a couple Breck players (Opperman and Andrle).

I didn't make it to the game but I will be attending their first post season game.

Dickman finishes the season in fourth in the entire state in scoring (61) and lead the entire state in goals (42), surpassing the second place goal scorer by 10.

As previously mentioned, he will join the Fargo Force immediately following the Govies' season:

So does anyone think he is going to go on to big things?

He better make All State this year.

I guess you used the St. Paul paper for your stats. According to hockey hub I believe he tied for 18 in scoring. His 42 goals may have been second to Cisar at Moose lake but Besse had 40 so while he had a great year its not quite the slam dunk you might think.

Do they do Metro scoring leaders only? You are right then.

Would be a huge(npi) asset for any college(SCSU) team. Him in front of the net... with his scoring touch.. on a power play!!! What's he going to be like when he gets his man muscles?

Would love to see him in a Huskies uniform. My brother in law played for them and both of my sisters are alum as well. That would be some cool stuff. Plenty of Govies over the years have went to SCSU.

The St. Paul paper only lists about 1/3 of the metro teams, its a totally different topic but I can't figure out which teams qualify to be in their stats. Very few teams west of the river included other than breck.

I had heard something to that affect before but just thought out-of-metro players weren't counted.

He will probably only make honorable mention like he did last year then. The Pioneer Press sucks when it comes to covering anything related to hockey.

I looked over the PP again and you are right. There are quite a few powerhouses missing.

Any idea where I could get scoring leaders for the entire state?

I got it now. Dickman was second in the state in goals scored. I do have to point out that Moose Lake played a weaker schedule than the Govs though.

Dickman played a much easier schedule than a number of guys that scored in the thirties for goals. Jay had a good year and deserves what ever awards/recognition come his way.
