This was a great and rowdy game partly because they were ranked first in A and AA respectively at the time and for most of the year.
What will the equivalent inter-league instant classic be this year (don't say Roseau and Warroad please)???
Duluth East and... Hermantown??? Breck?
(Remember last year rumblings that St Thomas was finally graduating up to AA. Is that happening this year????)
Afraid not, STA is still in A.
Duluth East only has one Class A team on their schedule (Duluth Denfeld). They are on the same side of the Schwan Cup bracket as STA, though, so they could easily play them if they both win (or lose) their first-round game.

I thought Denfeld closed its doors? Or did they rename Central now?

While they were rebuilding Denfeld, it closed and those kids went to Central. Now the new Denfeld has re-opened, Central has closed, so the kids are at Denfeld. East remained unchanged, other than moving to their new high school, rebuilt at the site of old Ordean Junior High.

It was, and the end result was five new schools in the city, with a huge price tag.

[quote="Shinbone_News"]Going on past experiences:
St Thomas against Hill Murray was a barn burner last year.
Why on earth are Hill and STA playing each other in the second game of both the first and second rounds of the conference schedule? It's always difficult to predict but the teams that are predicted to finish in the top 3 or 4 should be playing each other at the end. Hill, STA, Mahtomedi and maybe Tartan should be mixing it up the last week of the conference schedule. Best thing about the December blizzard was the first Hill-STA game got moved to the end of the season.
