If anyone else wants to post their prognostications for this week you must do so by 6:00PM today. So far we have 17 participating but more are always welcome!

Scores tonight:
Wayzata 6, Elk River/Zimmerman 1
Edina 4, Blaine 1
17 (of 18 ) correctly picked Wayzata to win, even though they were ranked a little lower than Blaine. 11 had No. 4 ranked Edina winning. There were no correct scores in either game.
I'll post point totals after Tuesday night's scores are in.

As of 10PM two of our four Tuesday night games have final scores posted, and both went into overtime:
Lakeville South 1, Edina 1 (OT tie)
Eden Prairie 4, Lakeville North 3 (OT)
In the first game only 36Guy predicted the tie (he had 2-2), so just that one point is awarded.
If pre-season rankings have any credibility the score in the second game has to be considered an upset, and indeed only two of our contestants (Silent But Deadly and luckyEPDad) saw EP winning this one. So combined with the other game, all 18 of us managed only three points combined. Not great!
If the other scores come in I'll try to post another update before retiring for the evening.

In the other two games tonight, it was:
Anoka 2, Elk River/Zimmerman 2 (OT Tie)
Red Wing 6, Chisago Lakes 1
I pulled the Red Wing/Chisago game off of Minnesota-scores.net, so it's not official - once it's posted on the Hub I'll correct if needed.
In the Red Wing/Chisago game there were three correct scores: Hieronymus, ayhfan and Rocketwrister each pick up the bonus point. Everyone else (except one who predicted a tie) gets a single point.
So with six games in the books - including three that went to O.T. and two that ended in ties - we have a five-way tie for first place:
1. Silent But Deadly - 4
ayhfan - 4
luckyEPDad - 4
36Guy - 4
Rocketwrister - 4
6. Seven tied with 3
12. Five tied with 2
18. One with 1
Next up: three games on Thursday.

Thursday night scores:
Anoka 5, Rogers 2
Wayzata 3, Andover 1
Still waiting on the Blaine/Stillwater game.
All 18 contestants had Anoka winning their game, but Hieronymus was the only one who got the score right and adds the extra point.
Our panel was very evenly divided on the Wayzata/Blaine matchup. A slight majority favored the higher ranked Andover by a nine to eight margin, with one predicting a tie. Three of the eight who thought Wayzata would win also predicted the 3-1 score, so they also get the bonus. Congrats go to Silent But Deadly, oag and ayhfan!
I'll update the point totals as soon as the Blaine/Stillwater score is available.

Stillwater 3, Blaine 1
At #10 and #11 respectively, these teams were very evenly ranked but for whatever reason a good majority (13 vs. 4 + one tie) here thought Blaine would win. One of the four (luckyEPDad) was lucky enough to pick the 3-1 score, so he adds the extra point.
Here's the top of our leaderboard, through Thursday:
1. Silent But Deadly - 7
ayhfan - 7
luckyEPDad - 7
4. Hieronymus - 6
sinbin - 6
36Guy - 6
7. oag - 5
Racki2016 - 5
FlyingWarrior - 5
Rocketwrister - 5
11. Four tied with 4
15. Four tied with 3
I will be tied up tomorrow night until very late, but I'll try to get something up before hitting the sack...if not, look for my Friday update Saturday morning.

Unless it's soccer, then go with 1-0.

Scores from this evening:
Lakeville North 4, Breck 2
Minnetonka 7, Rpseau 3
Warroad 7, Lakeville South 2
In the three games there were just two predictions of a correct score, not surprising when the winning team racks up 7 in two of them. Both Racki2016 and Otter got the 4-2 score right in the first game. Otherwise, all but one earned a single point in that game, having picked Lakeville North to win.
Likewise, nearly everyone ( 16 of 18 ) had Tonka winning their game. The Warroad/Lakeville South game was more evenly divided, with 6 favoring LS vs. 11 who correctly thought Warroad would prevail. One thought it would end in a tie.
So, heading into our grand finale tomorrow, here are the point totals:
1. Silent But Deadly - 10
ayhfan - 10
3. Hieronymus - 9
sinbin - 9
luckyEPDad - 9
6. 36Guy - 8
FlyingWarrior - 8
Otter - 8
9. Five tied with 7
14. Two tied with 6
16. Three bringing up the rear with 5
Biggest game of the year tomorrow - so far anyway - as No. 1AA Minnetonka faces off against No. 1A Warroad! That should be a good one.

Three of our four games today have been posted, and the results are:
Thief River Falls 2, South St. Paul 0 (a bit of an upset, at least according to the pre-season rankings)
Edina 5, Chaska/Chanhassen 1 (shots were pretty even at 29-26)
Minnetonka 2, Warroad 1 (no box score posted yet, but it must have been a heckuva game)
Perfect scores go to luckyEPDad and Nordic (Edina-Chaska/Chanhassen game) and to FlyingWarrior for his 2-1 prediction in the Tonka/Warroad contest.
So with just the Andover/Blaine game still open, here are the updated point totals:
1. Silent But Deadly - 13
2. ayhfan - 12
luckyEPDad - 12
FlyingWarrior - 12
5. Hieronymus - 11
sinbin - 11
Otter - 11
8. 36Guy - 10
MNHockeyFan - 10
D16Dad - 10
hockeyfan87 - 10
12. oag - 9
Nordic - 9
14. Four tied with 8
18. One with 7
In this evening's game, Silent But Deadly has Blaine winning, but either luckyEPDad or FlyingWarrior could conceivably pull it out if Andover wins by the "correct" score. ayhfan could end up tying Silent But Deadly if Blaine should win by a 5-2 score.
As soon as that score is posted I'll update this week's standings as "final", hopefully later on tonight.

Thanks, just saw that! The scoresheet on the Hub needs to be updated to show who figured in on the scoring on the winning goal.
Two of our contestants did pick the winning score...36Guy and Racki2016 - nice way to finish the week.
But Silent But Deadly hangs on to grab the prize for winning the first week - a big congrats go to him! For the week he was able to identify the winners in 13 of 16 games, with one correct score thrown in. Great job! Kudos also to ayhfan, who finished just one point behind, all alone in 2nd Place.
Here are the final point totals:
1. Silent But Deadly - 14
2. ayhfan - 13
3. Hieronymus - 12
sinbin - 12
luckyEPDad - 12
36Guy - 12
FlyingWarrior - 12
Otter - 12
9. MNHockeyFan - 11
D16Dad - 11
hockeyfan87 - 11
12. oag - 10
Racki2016 - 10
Nordic - 10
15. One with 9
16. Two tied with 8
18. One with 7
Look for Week 2 to be up shortly!
