And we have another 1-1 overtime tie:

Lakeville North 1, Hill-Murray 1 (OT Tie)

Shots were pretty even at 31-29 Hill-Murray, but the Pioneers did have a 6-0 advantage in the OT session. I bet it was a heckuva game to watch.

So our leaders, with two points apiece, are the four named above. Everyone else has either one or zero points...so everyone's still very much in it.

Tomorrow night we have just one game, with Mounds View traveling to Wakota Arena to take on the Packers. 16 of 21 have Mounds View winning this one, but I did see where they struggled a bit tonight, needing overtime to beat Park (Cottage Grove) 4-3. With the way things are going so far it'll probably be another 1-1 tie.

Final from Wakota Arena:

Mounds View 3, South St. Paul 1

Close game as it was 1-1 going into the 3rd period. Mounds View did dominate the shot clock, 32-19.

16 of 21 picked the Mustangs to win, with D16Dad and capitalpride also predicting the score to add the bonus point.

Here's the Leaderboard heading into tomorrow's four games:

One score is in and it's a bit of an upset:

Buffalo 3, Anoka 2

Emily Varner scored the winning goal at 10:10 of the 3rd period on the power play. For the game the Bison outshot Anoka by a 39-25 margin.

A surprising number here (9) picked Buffalo to win, vs. 12 who favored Anoka. There were no correct scores.

Two more scores have been posted:

Mound-Westonka 4, South St. Paul 1

Another minor upset as #9 beat #7, but here most everybody (17 of 21) picked the Packers to win. The White Hawks' Jessica Nkhata scored 3 of her team's 4 goals for the win. Shots were 31-25 White Hawks.

Blake 7, Irondale 2
Dani Cameranesi netted 2 goals and 3 assists to lead the Bears over the Knights. 17 of 21 on our panel here had Blake winning and add a point.

There were no correct scores in either of these games.

Still waiting on the Stillwater/Edina game. I'll post our Leaderboard at 11PM whether the result is in or not.

Scores from tonight:

Edina 4, Roseau 1

Taylor Williamson with two goals and Sarah Neilsen had a goal and two assists to pace the Hornets. Britta Lund stopped 20 of 21 Roseau shots.

Warroad 3, Hill-Murray 2

Kayla Gardner's two goals led No. 1A Warroad to a road victory over Hill-Murray. The Pioneers had a slight 22-18 advantage in shots on goal.

These four schools switch opponents tomorrow.

In our weekly contest all but one earned points tonight, and there was a total of 8 correct scores. Special kudos go to Otter and Bighead who nailed the scores in BOTH games tonight - pretty amazing really and I don't recall this ever happening before. As I mentioned in the original post I am out of town this weekend which is why I'm updating this evening's results later than normal. It's late so pardon the lack of detail on the games but I did want to post at least the scores and Week 3's final point totals in our prognostication contest. So here goes:

Blake 6, Breck 1
17 of us got the winner right, but no bonus points awarded.

Hill-Murray 2, Roseau 1
See above!

Wayzata 3, North Wright County 1
16 picked the winner, with capitalpride getting the score and 2 points!

Warroad 1, Edina 1 (OT Tie)
Racki2016 was the only one to predict a tie (had it 2-2), so he/she gets a point on the rest of the field.

Andover 6, Anoka 0
Our biggest surprise of the night, not just the outcome but the magnitude of the score. Only a third (7) thought Andover was going to win.

1. 36Guy - 11
Otter - 11
Bighead - 11
sinbin - 11

5. Knight7 - 10
D16Dad - 10
MNHockeyFan - 10
Racki2016 = 10
Silent But Deadly - 10
capitalpride - 10

11. mnhockey3535 - 9
woogieboogiewoogie - 9
FlyingWarrior - 9
Bleedinred - 9
Nordic - 9
hockeyfan87 - 9
fishfreak11 - 9

18. Two with 8

20. One with 5

21. One with 4

Congratulations to this week's winners! :)

And look for Week 4 to be posted shortly...
