The interpretation the announcers gave on TV was there needs to be a kicking motion with the foot. The replay showed the player with feet planted like a hockey stop and the puck bouncing off blade.
The announcers called it lucky but a sound interpretation...

Since the Star Tribune reported it this morning, there does not seem to be any harm in saying that Lechner was out of town visiting a newborn grandchild. He has always said family is number one and the team was obviously in good hands with Pat Schafhauser coaching.

Congratulations to Coach Lechner. The birth of a grandchild (first one?) is one of life's greatest thrills. It's even more nerve wracking than the birth of your own children.
2nd congrats to Coaches Lechner, Schafhauser & Ciro and all the Pioneers for winning the Schwan Cup. Really looking forward to the rest of the season. Great matchups left with Edina, Wayzata, STA and Moorhead.
