After 2

It's my first time seeing both teams, and this is one of the biggest size mismatches I've ever seen. Eagan's many big players are just steamrolling tiny South. South has occasional spurts of energy, but they don't have the finishers they had a year ago, and Lauderdale is hurt for them, too.
Is speed an issue or is it purely physical in this match up?
It's definitely not purely physical--Eagan definitely has some players who can move. But South's small forwards are having trouble getting through the Eagan D, and they're overmatched when Glienke and Willox decide to crash the net.

That's like Herman Munster on skates.

Big kid, great talent.

Yeah, I've been very impressed with him. Great combination of size, skill, and hard work.

:D In all seriousness. Other than maybe Moundsview, I'd give the Bears the most likely chance of an upset. They certainly have been playing better than Moundsview as of late.

Agreed. Their rivalry also plays as a factor as well.

Some HM/WBL games have had unpredictable results.

Lakeville South 2

Final

After impressing me in the first two periods the Wildcats had a pretty ragged third, but South couldn't finish. Still, it was an entertaining game.

Warroad over Crookston 8-7

At one point, Crookston lead 6-2, but Warroad scored 5 goals in the final period to avoid the upset.

Not a pretty game, but a win is a win.

Hey karl, why don't you wear your full Greyhound gear next time you visit us unannounced? That way I can spot you in the crowd and offer to buy you a cup of coffee (or something stronger after the game).

Cogent game analysis. It's too bad about Lauderdale...the story that I heard is that he might be out 4-6 weeks with a wrist injury (but that's just a fourth-hand injury report, so caveat emptor).

I probably should have said I was just watching online, happily settled under a pile of blankets at home and enjoying my Adult Beverage during the game. But I'll make sure I wear my Hounds jersey I ever head down to Eagan.

Tom Saterdalen also reported 4-6 weeks for Lauderdale during the broadcast. It'll be interesting to see if he can go in the playoffs.
