But they're now making bats out of some kind of bamboo laminate..."Wood" bat without the breakage issues.

Wood bats survive entire tournaments and then some. Bamboo bats are cheaper alternatives, but they can break too.

Some hitting coaches have their players using wood bats all winter.

6 broken wood sticks still doesn't equal the cost of breaking one stick today.
