Well, the less said about East-STMA, the better. I thought STMA might at least hang around for a little bit, since the 6-1 game two weeks ago wasn't a total blowout. Alas, the first East goal was pretty ugly, and it was off to the races from there. Not a whole lot of fun to watch.
Looks like St. Francis and Andover stuck around for a while, but in the end, the top seeds all march on. It's hard to think of a better set of match-ups at Amsoil for Semifinal Saturday, so it should be a fun afternoon of hockey. It'll be great to see the resumption of one of the state's great playoff rivalries in East-Cloquet, after four years without a meeting, and I suspect a big crowd from Rapids will be down there for the first game and re-form the Fan Alliance. It'll be interesting to see how Amsoil compares to the old DECC for games like this one.

Should be a great couple games on Saturday, can't wait!
Franny did hang around for 2 periods even though they were out shot about 30-10. Rapids was dominating the play and the shots but for awhile it looked like another one of those nights against this team where you couldn't get a goal to save your life. Franny's 2 goals came on a quick deflection on the PP and on a bad turnover right in front of Sheppard. But alas the superior team prevailed, first shift of the 3rd and Peterson buried it. No slowing down after that. Jonah Bischoff had a great game I might add, 2g and 2a I think.

So the 4 weakest teams are gone without a close score amongst them. Now we move on to Saturday, and I don't see either being close as well. It's been a two horse race from the start.
