This used to be a very, very competitive tournament, but has really fallen off the last few years. Only one of the Detroit heavy hitters showed, no St. Louis Blues, and NONE of the top Canadian teams have showed up like the Marlies, Jr. Canadians, Hamilton, Ottawa, etc.
Elk River Bantam AA 4
Carolina Jr Canes 5

Puckstopper 81, Lets be very clear your right the Elks are not in the top division they are in the 2nd division and LVS is in the 3rd division. And yes the Blades are doing well in the 1st division as they should be as they are a AAA team that is built from the top players in the metro area with a mix of 97 & 98 born players.

Unlike the Elks that are a community based team that has players from a 15 mile radius from Elk River. Also please note Puckstopper81 the Elks only have two 15 years olds on this team the rest are 14 and 13 year olds we have an even mix of young 98's, 99's and 2000 playing this weekend against players sometimes 3 years their age.

As a Minnesota community based team I could not be prouder of what the Elks, LVS, Minneapolis and yes even the Blades have accomplished this weekend and how they are representing the State of Minnesota!!

It makes no difference that ER is playing in the lowest division. They are still playing teams that are Way older and even if they are house league teams it will help them down the line.

You are correct, they will not face competition like they did this weekend in Minnesota bantam hockey from a size and strength perspective. Just to clarify, there was three levels at U16, ER played in the middle level.

Yes, let's be very clear. They obviously are not as good of tourneys as when you were there.

What's that chant I hear "Overated"

Saw the game last night and I don't see ER as a #1 rated team, not impressed at all.

Thanks for the motivator puck... I will make sure each and every one of the players know your thoughts and that they will lose first round at the ox.
