Sure, why not? Tomorrow evening when the deadline for posting passes I'll add one that shows:
(a) The number of "votes" each team received (predicted winners of each game), and
(b) the average score as predicted by our group.

I'll then keep track and report back how this mythical "Conventional Wisdom" fellow does compared to us mere mortals.

I've noticed a strange phenomenon with many of the picks this time around--lots of people are picking ties. It started with Knight7, who himself is a strange phenomenon , picking 2 ties.
It's true there are usually a couple ties each week, but predicting them seems pretty difficult.

First I wouldn't in any way poke fun at Knight7. After all he did win a wonderful prize for his prognostication skills at the end of last season, which he so kindly passed on to his daughter...

But ties are pretty difficult to predict, maybe solely due to the fact that the overtime period is designed to break them. Sometimes the OT does, making the odds of a tie between two evenly matched teams a little less than either team coming out on top. That said, it is pretty cool when you get one right and gain a point or two on everyone else!

I will just say I picked at least several ties a few years ago, but unfortunately did not do so very well, so stopped doing it.

Final tonight from New Hope:

Edina 2, Armstrong/Cooper 1

Both of the Hornets' goals came on the power play, with the winner scored by Gophers' commit Taylor Williamson. Armstrong/Cooper scored their only goal with just 14 seconds remaining to break the shutout bid by Edina's Boomer Sonnek.

In our contest 25 of 26 had Edina winning, but there were just two correct scores - one by yours truly ( ) and the other by 36Guy. So we take the lead with 2 points each leaving most everyone else one back.

Now we have a 5 day break until our contest resumes, on Tuesday the 12th which with five games on tap will be a busy night.

P.S. In the fwiw category our mythical "Conventional Wisdom" (hereafter known as CW) - the average of all 26 predicted scores by the group - had it at 3.54-1.38 (4-1 rounded). So this turned out to be a much closer game than our group predicted.

Purely a case of a blind squirrel finding the nut, I can assure you.

Hey everybody, just wanted to let you know that I've been having internet connection problems the past few days, I think because my modem is on its last legs. So if you don't see an update here later on, that means I can no longer connect, even sporadically. Big Game Scores – Tuesday, November 12, 2013

As of 10:45pm four of five games have been reported as final:

Lakeville North 0, Minnetonka 2
Minnetonka’s Kelsey Crow and Presley Norby scored the game’s only goals, both in the first period, to lead the Skippers over the Panthers at Pagel Arena. Shots on goal were even, at 20 apiece. Tonka’s Hannah Ehresmann stopped all 20 to record the shutout.

In our contest our panel was just as divided as the game’s shots on goal. We had 12 favoring Minnetonka, 12 liking Lakeville North and two who predicted a tie. Only one – D6 Girls Fan – got the score right to get the extra point.

Eagan 1, Cretin-Derham Hall 3
Another very close game in terms of shots on goal, with Eagan getting 22 vs. CDH’s 23. Paige Voight was the Raider’s leader on offense, with a goal and an assist.

Most (22/26) thought CDH would win, with two – sinbin and Nordic - correctly predicting the 3-1 score.

Benilde-St. Margaret’s 4 , Breck 0
BSM poured 54 shots on Breck’s Jenna Brenneman and managed to get 4 of them by her to record a 4-0 win. The Red Knight’s Abby Miller was called upon to make just 12 saves to earn the shutout. Kelly Pannek and Bittney Wheeler each got a goal and two assists to lead BSM’s offense.

25 of 26 of us had Benilde winning, but nobody predicted a shutout, let alone the 4-0 score.

Achiever Academy 2, Hopkins 4
Jilliane DeYoung’s hat trick, along with Corbin Boyd’s goal and three assists, powered Hopkins past upstart Achiever Academy. Erin O'Neil made 30 saves on 32 shots for the Royals.

22 of 26 predicted Hopkins would come on top in this one, but only D16Dad earned the perfect score bonus.

Blake vs. Irondale - TBD
