Brutal collapse on Saturday night.
Oh, the growing pains of a young team.

Was at last nights game.
A couple of stupid penalties and SCS made them pay dearly. This 1 X 1 X 2 penalty kill has got to go. It doesn't work on an Olympic size ice surface. SCS kept going side to side with the passes and it just killed us.
For the most part, I thought the gophers were actually the better team 5 on 5. Defensemen Glover and Collins really struggled.

What else is new? Cant get my head around why they don't have Sadek in instead of one of these 2.

Didn't help. Gophers are a better team with Sadek in lineup. Can skate much better, more athletic and makes better initial outlet pass out of d zone then 2 mentioned. Gives own forwards an advantage when he plays.

I thought #4 really struggled too, and in fact most the D. Thought guentzel was the almighty coach when it comes to defenseman.
As for the team...they lack fire power big time. Non of their defenseman wow me and this JR. class unless something changes is way overrated.
I get that fasching works hard but seems he accomplishes nothing.
Fasching
Kloos
Cammarata
Liettieri
Brodzinski
Bischoff
And I'll include...
Seeler
Reilly
They all have to step up for this team to be better.

I thought Fasching was much more physical in this game than any I've seen him play before. He was definitely looking to play the body any chance he got. Given the size of the team this year, they need to do more of that!

I am waiting for Gopher Blog to give us positive take on the current gopher squad.

I don't know where GopherBlog went, but I am sure happy they got the sweep over OSU and Kloos broke out of his scoring slump. I think he catches fire here now which is what they need.

Let's hope this puts a spark into this team. Big weekend series coming up with the Wolverines.

Good bounce back game following the Friday night debacle at Yost.
Holding serve at home in the B10 and splitting on the road may get this team to have a 1st round bye in B10 playoffs.

They are extremely lucky they are in the B10, if not, they wouldn't even be a 500 team.

Yes, nice to see the Gopher's bounce back from the free fall on Friday. With such a young team, I think this is going to be a common occurrence throughout the season.
Now I got a question for those who have followed this team over the years. Is Collins the next coming of David Fischer?
