I guess I'm going to have to start believing Greenway is a good Single A team. Putting North Shore into running time was something I didn't expect. North Shore had 8 shots on goal for the entire game. The game with Hermantown will hopefully be a good one. This will be Greenway's first time playing an elite team in a long time.

I hope your right, but I afraid it wont be close with Hermantown.

North shore could barely beat redwood valley so that tells you how good they are! I guess that ends the talk about them.

Quick A takes from tonight:

-Apollo showing they are every bit a state title contender by taking Breck to OT.
-Mahtomedi reminding everyone they will be a factor in A by beating STA.
-Hibbing squeaking by an inferior opponent in Virginia. Bad omen, or did they display some mental toughness by winning a game despite the opposing goalie standing on his head?
-Greenway throttling I-Falls. Style points aren't given out, but 10-1 is a thorough destruction.
-Delano also squeaking by a lesser team.
-TRF playing a solid AA team tough (Moorhead) shouldn't hurt their ranking much.

1. Hermantown
2. Breck
3. Apollo
4. Mahtomedi
5. Hibbing
6. SPA
7. Delano
8. EGF
9. Greenway
10. TRF

Was #5 North Shore(Mn-scores) able to reach double digits in shots tonight vs. that powerful Eveleth team?

Are you forgetting that this Apollo team, who returned most of their team, beat Breck in OT in the quarterfinals of state last year?
Breck definitely lost less players in their goalie and 2 others compared to Apollo's 6, but there's a reason this Apollo team started the year where they did.

So, when your team beats a team 4-2, with all of their goals coming on the power play, it's a "quality win," but when another team beats a conference opponents 4-2 on the road they "squeaked by?"

Yes, because Greenway is a ranked team, and Waconia is not. Not too hard to figure out there. I can't tell if you actually believe in what you write or if you just throw inane comments out there to get a response. You've been doing it for years, so I guess I shouldn't be surprised that it continues.

I was at the Apollo - Breck game last night and honestly there were times I thought Breck was better and times I thought Apollo was better. I think in the end Apollo was just fatigued as most of the kids have to play JV and they only run 3 d-men. At state, if they make it, they won't have to play JV and should have fresher legs. Apollo is definitely a threat at state if they get there.

One thing to remember at the state tournament is all the TV timeouts. You can pretty much run 2 lines if need be.

Checking the latest EGF game roster. Still no sign of Loven. Will he be back?

Has anyone seen Litchfield play? They are 11-2 with their two losses both 6-3 on the road to Luverne and Delano and 11 wins over the rest of their schedule. New Ulm is their most noteworthy opponent, who they beat 6-5 but in the other 10 games they have allowed 7 goals.
It'll be interesting to see how things pan out once Wright County conference play starts...

Little falls as well. After Hibbing played them close, the close loss to Virginia doesn't seem as bad now. Since then they have won 11 in a row allowing 8 goals in the process.

Thoughts on why Apollo, Breck, Delano, Hibbing, Mahtomedi, and SPA should be in a specific order...

How about Thief River Falls? They have lost to Breck and Hermantown by 3, lost to Bemidji and Moorhead and won the rest of their games.

With the season winding down could we maybe get some Class A rankings every week, as opposed to every other?

The issue with Class A is that often teams don't play many meaningful games in just one week. You often have a team get upset in their only game of the week or in 1 of 2 games and artificially drop multiple spots because it's been one week. It happens every year. This year going every two weeks has been nice because you get a much better picture from rankings to rankings. But I can make every week work for the rest of the season since teams do have a bigger body of work piled up already.

I would but I figured I'd see if HShockeywatcher would want to do it, being as its already his thing.

I completely agree with everything you said there. But like you said with teams having a bigger body of work I think it would be nice to see one every week.

I don't want to count any chicken's before they hatch, but for discussion's sake:
How do people compare Hibbing and Hermantown's non-common opponent games?

Right now it's just Cloquet losing to Hibbing 3-2 and to Hermantown 8-3.
In 5 days there will be 3 common opponents.

Greenway hold Hermantown to fewer goals than any else except Minnetonka has all season.

4 Elk River
3 Totino

How do you compare Hibbing and Mahtomedi?
Neither has lost to a Class A team

Hibbing has beaten EGF, Greenway and Cloquet.
They now got shut out by Grand Rapids.

Mahtomedi has beaten SPA, Tartan, Eastview, St Michael and St Thomas.
They have lost to Cretin, Hill, Rosemount and Tartan, scoring once in two games and twice in the other two.

The only common opponent on their schedules is Hermantown.
