Great to meet you, too. The long standing rumor that we were the same person died today. I'm way younger, you're way wiser

Hard to argue on July 24
2. EP
3. STA
4. HM , unless Begley leaves ,then SW -
Hill could bring in Ken Dryden and it wouldn't matter, STW #2 team in state behind EP
5. Centennial
6. Edina, if Sorenson leaves WYZ -
WAY way deeper than Edina
7. GR ( Elk runnerup)
8. Bemidji ( almost toss up with MH) -
after this year, it will be all Spuds for a long, long time

This is with all due respect. HM might not be a Top 15-20 team. They'll be really thin.
My pics:
1) Flip coin between North and South....I go North
2) EP---but Tonka and HF will be very good
3) STA...but don't count Bville out, Janne finds a way to win
4) Stillwater, that's it. Is worst AA section in state in 2016-17.
5) 3 team battle. Teddy ball game gets Centennial back to state.
6) Thinking Edina. But defending state champs will be tough. BSM way down.
7) Elk River gets to St Paul, slight edge over GR and the always tough DE.
Bemidji and Moorhead with a battle. I go w the Spuds. Lots of young studs.

GR beats EP

7 goals from GR on EP? Defense and goaltending another weakness this year for EP? smith is always hoping his forwards will carry the game forgetting that he needs defense and a good goalie. Casey can't win the state title alone. Don't we all remember the weak goals of last year's state tournament?
If these are the goalies for EP this year, I see big problems this year and the next few years to come. Of course a new goalie could magically transfer to EP. I would NEVER say a new goalie would be recruited.
I was told that the big JV goalie they wanted to move up this year decided not to come back. Going to juniors somewhere I guess. Sounds reminiscent of Rasmussen and Kielly, I'd say.
As a side note: My beloved BSM is not looking so hot right now either.

Tut. Did you see the EP GR game? EP's downfall was not goaltending. EP had a bunch of kids missing due to other camps and Elite Legaue tryouts. GR Had all their big guns. EP Was very very undisciplined. I bet they did not skate with five guys on the ice for more than 6 minutes the entire scrimmage. Too many penalties and being down 2 men too many times contributed. They need to control the emotion. They don't need another goalie - team chemistry is key and that would not help.

BSM down this year with the loss of huge senior class. It will take them some time to get some chemistry with lots of new faces but they will get better as season moves along. Also, dont pay much attention to these summer scores, there was plenty of players not in lineup. There is lots of young talent coming to help.

Couldn't agree more with Puckdad.
I watched 2 EP games, one-the destruction of my squad, and the other-the GR game.
EP was missing Leivermann and 4 other senior D, and I believe all 5 will make that varsity squad into a formidable unit this winter. Having watched that team from afar since squirts, any goalie would be fortunate to have that group in front of him. (as July goes, their younger D did look terrible, IMO) Imagine if they did have Rasmussen though...
I believe YHH posted that EP outscored their opponents 22-5 in the first 3 games. If that is correct, I wouldn't judge their winter potential on that GR game.
Chemistry is the key. If Mittelstadt returned for another run, obviously he feels confident in that group of senior D, the goalies, and his coaches.

I hope Duluth Marshall has the goods to make things very interesting in 7AA this year. Elite league North roster full of East and Rapids players so it'll be tough for CEC (1) and Marshall (0) on the roster.

Nice showing by Benilde considering they didnt bring 4 of their top players and goalie. I to hope Marshall gives DE and GR a run.
