How does the Hilltopper Classic handle ties?
This is the tournament that plays extra 4 on 4 periods right?

Would assume shootout right after first OT, to keep rest of the games on schedule.

End of the first overtime, tied 6-6. I think they will now play a 3-on-3 overtime.

Is this going to be officially a tie, as Hilltopper Classic games have been in the past, or did they play 5 on 5 so it counts?

I thought they should have opted up after beating Edina and Elk River in scrimmages before the season.

1st OT - 5 on 5
2nd OT - 3 on 3

Lame.
If they had played the 2nd OT 5 on 5, would the result have counted?
What are the rules on this?

It's a tie, officially.
One eight minute 5 on 5 period.
After that for tourneys - not playoffs - it is just used to determine who moves on in the bracket.
Officially it is a tie.
