I will be tuning in to radio for this one. I don't want to see Hermantown up 9-0 either but there is no way I'm going to miss out if Greenway can somehow pull this out. It doesn't happen often but these are the games that create legends.

A close game would be great but it is not happening!! Too much fire power and speed on the Hawks. But again miracles can happen(aka Duluth Central over Eveleth in 1999 7A QF).

Agreed, Hermantown has too much fire power. It's been said a million times; but i'll say it again, sure would of been interesting if they opted up 2 years ago to see what they really could of done.

Yes, Hermantown has more speed, skill, and open-enrolled talent than Greenway does, but big upsets are big upsets because no one gives the underdog a realistic chance at winning.
4-3 Raiders.

Agreed 100%. It is an affront to the hockey gods that teams as good as the Hawks have been the last two years weren't given a shot at AA. An opt up two years ago would have cemented Plante's status as a MN hockey legend. Now to anyone outside of Hermantown he's just a hypocrite who took the easy way out, letting his players and the MN hockey community down in the process.
A sad ending...

"During its current six-game winning streak, Greenway has defeated No. 13 St. Paul Johnson, No. 4 St. Paul Academy and the ninth-ranked Bluejackets."
Miracle on ice commences tomorrow.

Eden Prairie wouldn't beat Hermantown in this game. I don't care what sad stories are coming out of Greenway. I like Greenway, don't get me wrong, but Hermantown hockey is elite.

The announcer for the game on WDIO is talking waaay too much. Take a breath and let your color commentator help out.

Hermantown just had to ice it. I consider that a good sign.

3-0 after 2. Greenway has given them a game. They have been close a few times. Might as well let it hang in the 3rd. It's not over yet. It's been awhile since anyone was still in the game with these guys after 2.

Well, the blueprints were definitely there for an upset, and they executed the plan well, but for it to work everything would have to go perfectly. Just wasn't that night.
Congrats to Greenway. You gained a fan tonight, I love the coach, and how the players work extremely hard.

By the way, #11 on Greenway is quite the player. Couldn't catch a name, but he has some blazing speed.

Clafton had a great game plan. Don't let Hermantown have control of the zone for too long: ice the puck if you have to. They were able to frustrate Hermantown for 1/2 the game. The bad line change at the end of their power play was the killer. You just can't make a mistake against Hermantown. Anick played a heckuva game in goal. I was a little surprised that Plante put out his first unit on the powerplay with about 3 1/2 minutes left in the game. He must have been a little frustrated that the game was not in running time. Great effort by the Raiders and they played until the final horn. Thought that Jacques was the best player on the ice for Hermantown. That kid sure made some great plays.

It was a competitive hockey game for two periods, which is a lot more than I was hoping for. Real credit to Greenway for their effort tonight and their season. Those four senior defensemen and Anick were very strong and did a great job of avoiding mistakes or letting things snowball. This was a special senior class for the Raiders, and they've done a lot of good work for the program. If there were no Hermantown in their way, I think they could've done some serious damage at State.
Hermantown, meanwhile, marches on. Give them credit, when the other team starts to build some momentum or plant some hints that it could be an interesting game, they have an immediate response, always. Jacques had a fantastic night. We'll see if anyone can give them any sort of a game.
