This ranking looks reasonable at this stage of the season. I had to wait and see if Marshall could actually beat Luverne for once. There will be only one game between Marshall and Hutchinson this season, as usual. The home-and-away with New Ulm will be telling also.

Game ends with a 5-on-3 for Luverne.

Marshall took too many penalties, but still won 6-2.

Marshall beat New Ulm 5-2 last night in Marshall. Although the return game (in New Ulm) could go the other way, it shows that Marshall has the goods against New Ulm if they want it. Mason Plante had another brace.

Tomorrow, Marshall travels up to Hutchinson for the only meeting this season between the two sets of Tigers.

2- Hutchinson - big game against Marshall tonight for the #1 spot
3- LDC - seems barely getting by?
4 - New Ulm - will improve
5- Luverne - will improve

Marshall 6-3 Hutchinson, in Hutchinson.

Until and unless Marshall beats Litchfield-Dassel-Cokato, I would still put LDC at the #1 seed.

Another convincing win for Marshall.. on the road too! Shots 52 - 18.. I should have put Hutch in the 3rd or 4th spot.

I'm not sure Hockey Hub is correct. According to a screen shot of the scoreboard at the end of the game (shown on Twitter), shots were 37-24 in favor of Marshall.

This is what I'd go with after this weekends games:

Marshall may be the favorite but I don't think by much. It will be close between Litch and Marshall

After Marshall it is a mess.

I would not say it is a ‘mess’, but unclear to this point. My feel so far is relative parity will have that remain the case.

Marshall has likely indicated some slight separation at this stage, but the Litch Marshall game in January will be telling, as will the re-matches with Luverne and New Ulm. LDC and Hutch have great testing schedules, and if it doesn’t improve them it seems to harden them, LDC especially in recent years seems to have been capable of benefiting from those tough games.

I think we’re seeing the averages shake out as one might feel they could predict with possibly 2 thru 5, 3 thru 5 likely being interchangeable so far, but I also think come February you will have the usual 4 or 5 suspects all capable of beating each other in a 1 game elimination when it’s tunnel vision all on the line.
