That's why I started this thread! Add the names that are deserving. Ghs, are you keeping a master list, lol..it will be interesting to see what it looks like at the end and then what it looks like after all the girls play a season. We all know some times it hard to put a grade on some of the girls stats based on the conference she plays in. Another note: I do enjoy your comments in other threads if you know what I mean..

Yes, true on the list - more than anything else I think it will be interesting to see who is added, and also how this list changes over time. 2008 is a long way off!!!

I don't know how you made your list if its on Stats and PTs only? The HS boys are ranked on over all play. Forechecking skills, back checking skills, Setting up the play, Skating, Shooting, passing, stick handleing and making things happen out on the rink with out getting credit for the pts. Sure pts and shots are a factor but there are many other qualities that need to be considered in the quality of the player and how you rank or make a list of your best players around. Its just as important to have a player stop 3 scoreing chances than to score three goals in a game. I know hockey pretty good and most of your goal scrores are not defense players at all. The glory goes in the paper to the girl/boy who scored the hat trick but nothing is said about the girl/boy who stopped a hat trick because of her/his efforts on back checking.

Edited by: <A HREF=http://p074.ezboard.com/bmnhs.showUserP ... keyDogs at: 9/2/05 1:14 pm

As a stay-at-home D's dad I heartily agree.

The problem is - who does the evaluating and where is it published? Us mere mortals in the bleachers can only get what's printed in the newspaper as far as I know.

The lists in this thread are made up by the posters using whatever criteria they like, if you have a better one, share it.

xk1 what do you know about ranking a Hockey players or Hockey Person/girl? Just was wondering how these girls get on this type of list thats all. By the Way i most likely forgot more about hockey than you know

I think xk1 answered your question quite honestly and correctly. These aren't intended as official collegiate scouting reports and are rather the subjective opinions of posters intending to have some fun assembling their own personal "dream team(s)" version, probably based on thoughts originating while watching the players in action...and not much more. I along with just about everyone else could likely come up with several varied "All Star" rosters and have fun doing it...no harm in that.

What did I say to prompt a personal attack? I just told you how the lists were made, never said I agreed or diagreed with them. I am interested in your list actually, as you seem to have more knowlege of the Northern girls than those posters in the Cities.

Out of Moose Lake, Rachel Bourchard should be mentioned as one of the best goalies in the state. The team is very young with only a few of the girls sophomore and up. Rachel holds her own and allows the team to have success while learning. I can't wait to see her play for a couple more years. She a phenom. One of the most complete technically sound goalies I've ever seen. Should be a fun couple of years.
