They will most likely be a very young club next season. My guess would be that they might struggle just a bit with only 4 returning guys, a number of B1's moving up to A and 5 or possibly 6 first year kids. That is a very high number of first year guys indeed. The coaching should help as the program is in very good shape in that regard.

Woodbury has one of the top 5 kids at that age level playing for Team Midwest and their best goalie is playing for the Fire. I live in Woodbury and can tell you that they only can skate around cones, no hockey ability at this level. The Assc. is all about prestige and nothing about developing the program. They will struggle, Eagan will be the cream of the crop next year, hands down. Watch the Zajac kid, a man among boys.

Anybody have any knowledge of other Northern Teams:

Hibbing, Virginia, Falls, Cloquet, Lakers?

This past year seemed to be a solid year for the North, wondering if that is a trend or was more of a fluke?

Oh yes Zajac will be a force. He was tough to contain this year as a first year. I watched him play Squirt A last year and he was completely dominant. Another player to watch for next year will be Eric Carlson from Albert Lea. He dominated this year as a first year. He is really small but he makes up for it, he throws some huge hits and won't back down from anyone.

I agree that Wayzata should be a force next year. They had a 2nd place finish this year in PWA plus the 1st place B1 team. Their other B1 team was also strong all year. However, I don't know the split between 1st and 2nd years on these teams.

Minnetonka and Chaska will be the strongest teams in District 6. Tonka has 6 players back and a B1 team that finished second in state.
