Lakeville beat Centennial 4-2 on Monday. Poorly refed game but even if you changed the calls it may have been the same score. Centennials 2 goals both came from 5 on 3 power plays.

Tough game for Centennial. They had just finished playing in the Wayzata tourney, including a 9:00 a.m. game Monday, and only 10 guys showed up to play Monday night in Lakeville. Very unusual for this team to be short players.

Wessy's Boy's beat Eden Prairie in the championship game. EP outshot Wessy's 31 to 18. The goalies for both teams were outstanding. EP came out very flat and were down 2-0 after the first period. EP carried the play in the 2nd & 3rd. The score was 2-2 going into overtime. In Wayzata, they only play a 5 min. overtime & then it goes to a shootout. No one scored in the overtime. Wessy's Boys got two goals in the shootout & EP got one. Tough way to lose a championship game, but I give the Wessy Boys all the credit in the world for their play & win. No idea why the Wessy boys do not have a better league record because they appear to be a quality team. Wessy's beat Jefferson, Burnsville & Centennial to get to the Championship. EP beat West Fargo, Green Bay Varsity, and the Fargo Flames to get there.

I concur that that might have been one of the worst refed games this season, other than Lakeville vs Mounds View.

Centennial has the worst ref's in the league. When they beat Wayzata 4-1 3 of the Centennial goals came on the power play, and the ref's missed numerous calls for Wayzata.

Congrats to Centennial for having their "own refs". When I watched Centennial beat Wayzata in the WAYZATA Tournament I did not see the refs leave the rink wearing Centennial jackets.

Edited by: <A HREF=http://p074.ezboard.com/bmnhs.showUserP ... s>EPFan at: 1/25/05 5:44 am

This Thread is about "TOP A TEAMS" not Lakeville. Lakeville's Defense look more like turnstiles than anything else.<img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... /laugh.gif ALT=":lol">

Edited by: <A HREF=http://p074.ezboard.com/bmnhs.showUserP ... s>EPFan at: 1/26/05 1:41 pm

OK EP. We will bow down to your greatness. By the way, why was it so hard to come from behind and beat Lakeville in the last 2 minutes. Since you guys are so good I would have expected a better show.<img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... /frown.gif ALT=":(">

Have A little sense of humor. There are a lot of good teams this year & so far no one has proven to be great. In fact there are a lot more good teams this year over last year & Lakeville looks like a good team. No excuses from us, A win is a win no matter when you score the goals. I think there are 6 to 8 teams that could win the State Tournament & I think EP is one of the 6 to 8.<img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... lasses.gif ALT="8)">

Lakeville

There are clearly better teams in the state other than Lakeville. i think you have to give the #1 to edina just because they have failed to lose in really the only thing that matters right now league play. Some how they get it done every game.

I'm glad that everyone in this forum blind enough to rip on lakeville. Cause while being the underdogs in everyones mind i have a great feeling that they will be a strong contender in the Eden Prairie tourny this weekend. And just for you EPFAN that duluth will show you how a real game of hockey is played. <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... s/pimp.gif ALT=":hat">

Edited by: <A HREF=http://p074.ezboard.com/bmnhs.showUserP ... >Bombay at: 1/26/05 10:03 pm

... That kid from lakeville #6 is also #66 they ordered 3rd jerseys this year.. agreed that kid has some great speed. i think he would be more beneficial as a forward... as i recall he used to play forward but because of lack of defensive players they brought him back...

taking in account of teams we've played and other games i think wayzata is definately number one... besides speed they kno how to play the body... then im gunna hafta give credit to edina (very strong team), 3rd Duluth only seen them play once but they move the puck well and have a very good goalie, 4th Centenial they are quick and play hard but i was dissapointed in their performance against lakeville 5 E.P. although they have a good team they werent as good as expected 6 Lakville, although the record might not be great this team has competed with the best... very close games... if they can learn to keep it together at the end of games things will definately be looking up for them at the end of the season... 7-10 (no order ) white bear, osseo, minnetonka, Wessys boys)

rankings

I truely dont see why evaryne is all hiped up about rankings, for the season is nearyly half over. The ony time you can truely announce a 1st 2nd and 3rd place spot in the state is after the State tourny. I seem to remember a lakeville team two years ago that walked all over every team they played but at the playoffs where they needed to play they self distructed knocking them selves out of the state tourny and clearly this team was ranked 1st all year long. It just goes to show that teams can come together and also breakdown in parts of the season. Just watch and you will see teams start to fall while unexpected teams rise to the top cause they want it just that much more than everyone else.

Three words about Lakeville (so far).
CHECK..............THE ....................STANDINGS

I like your confidence going into the EP Tournament this weekend. No predictions from EP, good luck to all of the teams. I hope we get to play Duluth, I hear they are a good team. They may beat us, I don't know what they will teach us about "real hockey". I"ll let that be your fantasy.

Edina has the best record so far so they are the #1 team. No question. I don't think they will be #1 at the end of the season, maybe that's just my fantasy. Lot's of good teams this year. Lot's of reasons why good teams aren't playing better. The playoffs & State Tournament are going to be a dog fight. No more excuses about injuries, referees, dog ate my homework.etc.<img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... lasses.gif ALT="8)">

i really dont think you should be talking about lakeville's standings... didn't u guys pull out a win with just a few minutes left in the 3rd period... and the score was only 2-1 obviously they can compete

hey EPfan I seem to remember your coaching staff complaining about the refs in the game verses lakeville. You seem to contradict yourself alot. kina like John Kerry.
