No the team with the better QB usually wins and the team with a huge advantage at QB nearly always wins, no matter the defense.

The Bears defense really hasn't even been elite lately. Once Mike Brown and Tommie Harris went down with injuries, the defense went from great to good. They can be run on, especially to the outside, and the Colts patented stretch play could exploit that. 2 of the Bears 3 losses came against the AFC, the AFC championship game basically was the Superbowl. I just can't see Manning losing to Grossman in this one.

The game should come down to if the Bears can run the ball, and can they get pressure on Manning against probably the best pass block line in the league. They didn't against New England. Well, Rex too, but I'm not holding my breath. Colts will win.

Is anyone else getting tired of hearing how the Colts need to win for Peyton Manning? I believe Marvin Harrison has been in the league as long as Manning and it is his first trip too. Would one really be a whole lot without the other? Maybe How about Jeff Saturday, how long has he been around?
What about the fans of the team that have not had a championship at the professional level? I don't remember one anyway. The Indy 500 doesn't count.
There are a lot of players that play for years that never get a ring because while they were good enough and deserving, their team wasn't.

Good Luck to Manning and the rest of the Colts. I also say good luck to the Bears. I hope its a great game. As a Vikings fan (yes I can admit it) Part of me wants the NFC Central team to win while the other wants them to lose. I'll get back here with a score next week.

Here's what I like most about the Colts, out of their 22 regular starters none were obtained through restricted/unrestricted free agency, all through the draft, trades, or as undrafted free agents. In fact the only player they have through free agency that sees much field time is Vinateri.

Much like the Twins they use their scouting dept and the draft to build their team instead of trying to rely on the quick fix.

Colts LG Ryan Lilja obtained off of waivers from the KC Chiefs.

Colts DT Raheem Brock signed as a FA in 2002. Originally drafted by Philadelphia.

I think the source of their success comes from Peyton Manning. Also, he's the reason for the lack of free agency signings. It's hard to pay big-name players big-name bucks when you're already paying one of them a $99.2m contract. Not to mention the cool 34.5m he got for his John Hancock. The colts did a good job of keeping the players that they needed to (i.e. Marvin Harrison) in order to be succesful. I think that the only reason that the Colt's aren't considered to be on of the best NFL teams of all time along with the Pats is that they don't have the coaching staff that the Pats do. If they only did, Payton would be getting all the glory he deserves. While Brady would be considered the average quarterback he is.

Dear God, that didn't take long. Why not kick it out of bounds? Make Grossman go 65 rather than Hester go any amount of distance.

You have to go at least 35 yards to be in comfortable FG range, and I would take my chances, and considering Hester is averaging 26 per return, on average they're going to be at the 31 anyway with Vinateiri not putting it in the endzone.

They tried the squibb, and had they not fumbled, the Bears would have had the ball around the 40.

I'd just boot it out of bounds if I were the coach, but I guess there's a reason I'm not.
