Tonight out at Public Schools Stadium, Duluth East goes after their fifth straight victory, and Duluth Central goes after...whatever it is the Duluth Centrals of the world go after.

Yeah Dougs got it right now

but the AP just can't catch on, Rogers still at #8
That's still pretty good considering the schedule

On the Duluth East-Central game Friday night...
East 35
Central 7
Looks like a solid win, until you realize this game was called with 8:38 to go in the 2nd quarter due to lightning.
Looks like the Greyhounds are building on last year's success rather nicely.

The Govs meet Central tomorrow night for the St. Paul City Conference title. It would be Johnson's 5th in 7 years and Central's 1st in 20 years. Tune in to
FoxPreps.com to watch some
championship football.... Something you won't see out of Rogers this week.
The Trojans also have an opportunity to clinch a conference title at Hopkins on Friday... It could be a sell out, so get your tickets now so that you can spend your pregame bellied up at the
Lone Spur instead of waiting in line!

Right you are Govs.... you'll have to travel up 94 a bit to Monticello to watch the Royals go 6-0 on the road...

I am a little miffed Buffalo will not be able to play Rogers...MS8 schedulers ought to have known better...The Bison have had one bad game STMA on the road but still outgained the Knoghts 480 - 350...Bison are big upfront and quick backfield...pound the ball but need to throw just a tad more...they have some weapons and if Rogers falters...aka Becker...the Bison will be there to share the crown

Rick Reilly has a column up on the McLeod West football team. Nice little story.
My favorite line?
"How it beats powerhouses like second-ranked, 52-player Wabasso (22-20) is a mystery the equivalent of Janet Reno winning Playmate of the Year."

The Governors come up short in OT tonight, losing to the Minutemen 25-18.
Ouch.
Congratulations to Central for winning their first city title in 20 years.

Runnin Bare Lives!!!
In yet another classless but humorous antic, a high school streaker was nabbed at the GR vs EGF homecoming game football game for GR. The masked runner was tackled near the north end zone by a heavy set bystander who showed great form and burried the poor kid and was led out in shame. Questions arose from the stands as to why the streaker was not recruited to play football as he ran the 100 in about 9 seconds.

FYI GR evened their record at 3-3 after an 0-3 start. When's hockey season start by the way?

Da Hounds improved to 6-0 tonight with a 47-0 beatdown of crosstown rival Denfeld. East rushed for 314 yards in the first half. Denfeld had two forays into East territory in the first quarter, but both were thwarted. Another nice win for East; they head out west to take on 1-5 Crookston next Friday night.

Wayzata put another beating on a top 10 team by beating Hopkins 54-20.
They're not going to be touched until they meet Eden Prairie in the title game. Nobody has come close yet, and that includes a top 5 in Tonka.

Another win I thought was interesting was Andover over Anoka, could it be that they will be the next NW powerhouse?

Lets see Blaine split into 2 schools and in a mere 5 years the new team beat the school they split off from...that is the interesting part, as far as the next powerhouse I was speaking in terms a bit longer then this season!

Could we be seeing a showdown in the State tournament between Rogers and the Beast of the East?
