I watched the Johnson vs. Roseville game and I have to say I was impressed by the Johnson kids. They all seemed to be giving 100%. I was very impressed with #10. I think he is someone we will hear about in the future.

As a side note, I must say that at times this games appeared to be all about the refs and not about the skaters.

I thought it was funny the White Bear fans stuck around to cheer against Mounds View. The White Bear students are a fun group plus I knew a couple of them from their VFW baseball program last summer. I guarantee they will be cheering for Mounds View on Tuesday. You know they hate Hill Murray the most. And I think the Tartan students got a little bitter towards the end of the game, when they left they told some of the Roseville players that they were going to be there cheering them on.

The WB fans had some priceless old-time hockey jerseys on for the MV-Still game.

I thought there was some questionable officiating in this game, especially some calls against Johnson but I don't think it would have made a difference.

The old-school jerseys are great. White Bear Lake is a great hockey town and it seems like they get more than parents and students to the games. They get the community there to cheer them on.

Agreed. The wheels just fell off. Roseville seemed to be everywhere... they were knocking down passes, racing to the boards for loose pucks - Johnson didn't do it. They just got beat. It's frustrating, because they obviously had "it" the first 10 minutes.

Just curious.....do you guys think that Lechner would rather have his team play against Roseville or White Bear?

I would think Roseville. We all know WB-HM can go either way come sections.

Does it matter? THE PIONEERS ARE ON A ROLL AND ALL LINES ARE SCORING. Flip is on and the table is set for a return to the big dance.

And another disappointing tournament showing??

How is an appearance at state dissapointing. Just a question I dont understand that thinking. All the teams that make it should be applauded.

Allthough, I have it from a good source that a championship win at State is the only acceptable outcome this year. If they dont succeed they will hold tryouts in Nov and try again.

Possibly. They have the talent to do damage, but they certainly aren't currently on the Edina/Tonka/Roseau level. Doesn't mean they can't beat them, but they wouldn't be favorites. So I suppose you can't call it disappointing if you lose to better competition.

That said, I don't think Lechner cares on bit who they play. Both teams are similar in style and will give Hill a game...

If I could choose I would take Roseville. Less than great goal tending. The only teams that beat Hill this season. The goal tenders had big games. And from what I understand about Roseville that is not a possibility.

Here comes a wbmd rant on how he hates WB.

I won't be able to attend the semifinals Tuesday night at the Coliseum but I see that Fox9 will broadcast them online. Anyone aware if the streaming has improved since the start? I'm hoping so.

Fans might want to get to the Coliseum early on Tuesday. I think it will get packed in there and it will be quite the scene. Some NHL teams wish they could draw 5,000 a game.

Anything can happen on any given day, and it is never about one player, but I have a suggestion. Have your checked the stats on the Roseville goalie? Do some comparisons while you're there, too.

I saw Roseville's goalie play WB 3 times this year and he always played pretty well. He had a great game a couple of weeks ago when Rose was the home team.

White Bear Lake may have a tough time against Tartan. I could see the Titans pulling off an upset in that one.
Good call.

I took a look and you are right podabinski is deffinately got better numbers than collette. The only team he seems to play tough is roseville.
I have to say the info i recieved on podabinski was not accurate according to the numbers. I guess White Bear is my choice then since collette. will shut out roseville on tuesday. Thanks for the info I guess Roseville doesnt have a chance.

I'm binging the wife and 4 kids, plus ChrisK and maybe his two kids. I may take up a good row with friends and family. Seeing as we'll be on the Roseville side for game 2, I'll have to cheer for black...

I was impressed with #9 from Johnson the sophomore. Any truth to him going to North next year? Johnson just ran out of gas in the third because they were only playing 2 lines for most of the game. Johnson hit i think 3 pipes including one that could of put them up 3 to 0. The officiating was dissapointing you never want to see a game swing in one teams favor because of a bad call by the refs. Good job by Roseville to fight off the fiesty govies.
