Blake was very lucky to beat Holy Family. The HF goalie had a rough first period. Although to be fair, the shots from Blake, although they weren't many, were good. But Holy Family basically outplayed Blake for much of the game. Blake could not break out in with any speed the entire game, and they couldn't get anything going through the neutral zone. They didn't forecheck well and Holy Family should have won the game. HF didn't get any puck luck. Shots were bouncing all around the Blake goalie, hitting him in the mask twice, but that's the way it goes sometimes. Heartbreaking loss for HF, which played extremely well.
Blake did not look good. Breck looked far more talented in its game against Mound, and if Blake doesn't play better than it did against Holy Family, Breck should win easily and go to state.

Laprade had a (no offense) HORRIBLE first period. 3 saves on 6 shots. 2 of the goals which were seive goals. He stepped up his game in the 2nd and 3rd, but it was too late. Great season for a freshman, look for him in a couple of years.

Breck should dominate blake. Blakes game last night was horrible and they were lucky to win. They played a shaky goalie, but with so few shots they prolly wont be able to put the puck in the net against a solid goalie. They only have 2 kids that can do much of anything with the puck Breck on the other hand beat a good MWT team and they did it with authority. Mound is no push over, and Breck looks like an all around solid team that can put the puck in the net. I am guessing
Blake 1
Breck 6

You're right fivehole, Laprade had a horrible first period. I was right behind the goal and I frankly don't see how they counted six shots. I counted four, with three in the net.
He did play a little better after that, but he was fighting the puck all night, ending up on his backside way too often. But he is only a freshman so he's got a lot to learn. He does deserve some credit for sucking it up and playing better after that demoralizing first period. The kid had to be hurting after that. His team outplays Blake and their down 3-1. Ouch.

HF out worked blake the whole game and dominated them the whole game but the HF goalie let in some weak ones in the first and a couple missed opportunities for HF 2 missed back doors by #15 on the 6 on 4, also #22 got stoned big one time and missed another one. HF in my opinion should have been moving on and blake sitting at home today but it didnt work out HF had an awesome season though congrats

Shots were 30-26 in favor of Blake and HF had 5 power-plays. As much as I would have liked to see HF win. It was a very good and even game. Blake was never dominated other than the first 6 minutes.

Breck should win this one. They are a hot team beating other good teams like Mound, Providence and Blake in the past few weeks. They have outscored their opponents 45-9 in the last seven games. As long as they don't get into a slugfest with the bigger/older/stronger Bears, they should pull this one off.
