from Eastondude quote[
We are talking about Tom Rodman (Roddy). The word I got was that he got in to a physical altercation with a parent on the team last year. Combine that with the fact that his boy was not a top player on the team and Terry Moore gave him the boot.

This years problem again with this coach, is that the Coach got pissed at a set of parents because they wanted talk about their son's lack of ice time, he didn’t respond for 5 day, the parent kept asking him to reply to their communications, he had enough and rather talk to the parents, he removed the kid from the website roster, the Dad saw it, again they asked the coach to please call and talk, but he just removed the kid from the team. T.B. from the MIHC did call the parents and apologized for the way the coach handled the situation, and was clearly not happy with this coach.

Moral of the story, I guess you can’t question this AAA coach or ask questions. Anyone know him????

I need to set the record straight.

There was never any type of physical altercation with Roddy and a parent (or anyone else) while he coached the 2000s. This is just not true and should not be repeated. Also, his departure had nothing to do with his kid.

Muck: For their privacy reasons, my mouth is shut. Ask around...sure you will hear. Warning! What you hear from that coach and his friends/team, will be a much different story than what the parents say. Unfortunately because most of the team are his friends they don't see that what he did was very POOR coaching.

00 Blades are scheduled to be in the Caribou Classic at the end of August; 00 Machine is scheduled to be in the Easton Cup in the middle of the month, as well as the Caribou Classic.

As far as last years 2000 coach being the "best coach in youth hockey in Minnesota" Ask someone how he's doing with a certain other team now. You are right on one point however, it's all about coaching and Stephens is a great coach with a proven track record. Keep bashing and cheering for failure up at the Brick, it's all you Machine people have left.
Friends of ours has a kid that played for this so called best coach in hockey this year. What a joke! This kid will never play AAA hockey again because of the character of this guy and the experience he had. Can't believe what he pulled. My kid is a 97 (and I am a coach) and if a coach pulled that when my kid was a 2000, I would have walked without looking back. AAA hockey is for elite kids, but come on, we all deserve to have decent human beings as coaches. Sick of hearing about this guy being the best coach in hockey. What a joke.
What did he pull?[/quote]In the event you can't figure this out on your own - The way each side trashes each other makes both organizations look bad (Blades and Machine alike).

How did the Machine not make it to the chip? Did they have to play the blades in the semi's or something? If they lost to torspo, wholly cow, who is the Machine coach?, A Siberia current resident?

Bragging Rights for 10 year olds or for their parents.
Here is a tip...Whatever you do to win the game HURTS the development of the player. If a 10 year old kid is great at offense, play him at defense and vis versa. You may not win the game but the player will benefit.

That said, I found it entertaining to read some of the anti-2000 Blades threads and posts from this last summer...postscript as it were. Only hockey ignorance would prompt you to rip on a 10 year old for an out-of-town result, against a team your squad has never played, in a game you never watched.

Only a hypocrite would rip on the Blades for playing a non-minnesota kids from Wisconsin, and then turn around and fly a player in from winnipeg to play in the Caribou, (only to lose in the semi's to a team the Blades beat twice in the same tournament by a combined score of 11-2).

Congrats to MM 2000 Team Torspo. As to the 2000 Blades detracters and naysayers, your post season silence is Golden...... (insert imaginary crickets sounder here please)..

Speaking of the 2000 Machine/Blades anyone know if there will be any major changes after this season? Either roster or coaching?

HD41: Maybe you could shed some light on any roster changes? Have both held tryouts for next year yet? Any big changes in the players over the past 3-4 weeks? I heard one of the players got a new pair of skates. Top of the line too!

OK gopher hater, who's the hypocrite:

"Only a hypocrite would rip on the Blades for playing a non-minnesota kids from Wisconsin, and then turn around and fly a player in from winnipeg to play in the Caribou"

Isn't that the same kid that flew in to play for the Monopoly/ Blades all star team in the Easton along with kids from Chicago, Boston, and most canadian provinces?

"Roberto Duran" aka "hands of Stone"

Show me a thread or even 1 post from ANY person associated with the Blades ripping another team for rostering non-minnesota players and then I will stand corrected. If you can't show me that post, you stand corrected. I was merely refering to the threads I saw ripping the Blades for rostering out-of state-players..."only to lose".

Need more proof ?

click on the link below and listen to the anouncers read from an e-mail at 1 hour 5 minutes of the broadcast of the 2000 Caribou championship game, Blades vs. Toorspo. You can't make this stuff up. The e-mailer actually referes to a MN player who is a mid-season Blades addition to the roster as a "ringer". This after paying the travel expenses of the Winnipeg player to play against the Blades in the Caribou.

http://www.meridix.com/mbp/archive/hock ... rdid=13673.

That said, I find it hard to believe that the 2000 Blades never played the 2000 Machine this past summer. Not for "bragging rights" but because it is good for player development to have competitive match-ups. Maybe we can agree on this . :)

You can't blame the Blades supports for basking in the silence of their detractors following the Caribou Semi-final victory of Team Torspo. Congrats to a great group of kids !

see you at the rink

LETS GO WILD ! - GAME ON !

Pretty sure 3 of Torspo went to Iceman. Also heard at least 1 Machine left for the Blades. My gut says Torspo will have a tougher time this year. Level of Blades (with addition of Red helmet and machine kid if true) will be greatly improved and Iceman up a notch also with their changes.

I could name him but shouldn't. He was Monopoly last year and went with Blades to Brick - mvp of the Brick despite the finish by the team.

With the merge of 00 Monopoly with the 00 Blades, how many Monopoly kids came over? I know the red helmet kid, but who else?

A couple '00 Monopoly went over but not all the kids they wanted from what I heard. Some went their own way. That team had a good core, the red helmet kid is very good, couple other forwards were solid, very good core of big defensemen and decent goalies. They had the core to build around but it blew up. Their coach abandoned the team and decided to join the Blades. If you can't beat them, might as well join them. Plus the red helmet kid was going Blades and the coach followed.

Machine still class of this age group :D . After that probably Icemen, Torspo and Blades but no idea what order. May be a few dark horses that got better in the next tier like STE, Synergy, Legacy.
