It changes EVERY YEAR....
Was it fair that Anoka, CR, and SLP last year, who all had better records (and points) than CINB in the Green, to not go to districts?
It is was it is... like mentioned above some levels are all in one, some only have 5 or 6 teams in each pool.
Yes, the best solution might be everyone plays each other 2 times, which will give them 26 league games... 5 more games... Not bad for PW A level... have 1 less tournament or less scrimmages.
Regardless, I hope Coon Rapids or Anoka knock Blaine out of it…

Last night Centennial beat Princeton 7-0
Princeton looked decent through 2 where they were down 2-0 and had some quality scoring chances. however, Centennial then opened the throttle

Not sure of the game on 2/3 but on 2/2 it was Hopkins 2 Woodbury 1, Hopkins was also missing two of their top kids due to illness that night.

Very nice win for Hopkins! Congratulations!
Woodbury has 8 PeeWee teams and Hopkins has 3.
That's one of my primary measurements for success. Beating associations that have more teams at the level than you do. I know it's just one close game but they're obviously doing something right in Hopkins.

Centennial now gets White Bear in a semi final showdown Saturday afternoon. Centennial got the better of WB 3-1 way back in the EP tourny over Thanksgiving. Eventhough these two teams are in different districts, they are geographic next-door-neighbors. These kids know each other. Should be a fun match-up. Both teams are playing well right now.
Two good games tonight at the Moose:
Woodbury vs Elk River
Edina vs. Duluth East

Not far off Dog...
Elk River 10
Woodbury 0
Woodbury looked completely disinterested the entire game. They really laid an egg.
Edina 11
Duluth East 5
I'll give the Hounds credit, they never stopped. Actually they outplayed Edina for most of the 3rd period although the score was already out of hand and Edina was in cruise control since the middle of the 2nd period.
This now matches up Edina with Elk River in tomorrow's other semi final. If Elk River plays physical, I mean really physical, they could up end the Hornets. For the most part Edina is a small finesse team who moves the puck extremely well. But the Hounds barely laid a hand on any of the Hornets tonight. If Elk River leverages their size, and they have plenty of it, it could be fun to watch.

Woodbury definitely played as bad a game as they had all season. One shot in the 1st period. Unfortunately their best scorer, who's as good offensively as any PeeWee I've seen and has averaged over two goals a game, is out sick and it seemed to affect their confidence.
Elk River has a very talented and big team and they play extremely well together. It had all the right ingredients for a blowout. Credit goes to Elk River and good luck against the cake eaters.

Jolt,
I heard that Elk River was clearly the better team on Saturday, just didn't get the puck to bounce their way. Did the ref's take the game away from them?
Can't believe that they can't win that game.

I wouldn't say that. Elk River played them very tough but ran out of steam and Edina still remains the team to be beat. ER was clearly tired by the end of the game.
Would have liked to seen ER play more physical. I think that is the only way to trip up Edina. They don't like to be hit. Their game is predicated on speed and finesse. Puck movement is their specialty. Teams tend to get mezmorized in their own end by Edina's puck movement. Edina lives and dies off the cycle down low. Most teams, including ER, end up chasing the puck and not staying with a player. The only way to stay with Edina is to put them on their back when they cycle and that means a defensive player needs to stay with a cycling Edina skater and staple him when the puck cycles to him.
Oh and I also noticed Edina likes to skate a speedy small forward, one in particular, very, very high in their own zone when attempting to break out. Not really a suck hole but close, almost right on the blueline when the puck is below the goal line. The D will bang the puck high off the glass into the nuetral zone and spring him. Saw it no less than 5 times this weekend.
