I predict excuses... we're too young, it's not our real team, some of the girls had previous committments, they're just scrimmages, we just picked up whoever was available.

Predictions or prophecy?

First, is Austin going to show up with their past dream team, like they did Sunday Morning. I was not there but I heard it was a different game than previous. Boy, am I going to miss that Austin Class of 2007.............NOT!!!!


From the great prophet that I am..... We will dominate and send a strong message to Albert Lea. They will say it is a scrimmage, and it does not count. However; if you watch our top line against theirs, the message will be sent. Do not count the play of the younger players, that may not play much during the season. Of course we all will be missing some players due to other activities. I do not know whether I will be there, But I should know one thing. Is KH playing? I need to know if I should pack 1 or 2 pairs of sunglasses.

Its also rumored Faribault showed up with their grads Sunday...

I think all the games will be close. Though we know who will come out on top..

Yes we both had grads there Sunday. It was alot of fun, fast paced hockey. I got to see my good fried Alli #9.
The scrimmages this thurs, will only be up in coming players, no grads.
Really, do not put too much into scrimmages. I know personally, I want to look at alot of players and give alot of opportunities to some. We lost 8 seniors. I believe all the coaches, on all the teams, will be doing the same. The majority of these kids are friends and look forward to seeing and playing each other. Bottom line is it is Fun Hockey out of the Sun.

The only "message" sent last season was that "timely dislocation" of the net. AL got 3 out of 4

Are you saying Austin has solved their goalie issue? This could change everything.

It is a sad day on the forum when I have to be enlightened by Christmastree. Now I know how Swiss feels. Always a few days behind. Good one RSI.

So what do you do if you are Bray; Put in Jet's daughter as goalie and give up all of that good play, or take your chances with pipes making saves. Not my problem.

As predicted, it will come down to Albert Lea and Faribault, with Faribault about 2-3 goals better.

With all that talk about Faribault I wasn't really impressed. One goal and we were missing key players. Oh well, we'll see how it goes when it matters.

The scrimmages went well, no team clearly dominated. Either tigerpower failed to notice or failed to mention that each of the three teams were missing a key player, if not in all situations the best player.

The best players must be AL 's#5, Faribault's # 7, and Austin's 12. If all three teams were missing their best players then it is a wash. Faribault won the battle of the role players. The goalie ratings were #1 Faribault, # 2 Albert Lea ( I wear my sunglasses at night), and #3 Austin.

Faribault is greater than the greatest.

last time i checked goalies were rated by saves not goals....

falcons you must be good at math as you are from faribault...

I agree that your end of the ice had all the action. That is called complete domination. The Zamboni did not even need to clean our end of the rink.

Also, I think our goalie caught up on her sleep during those scrimmages. Did you wear your new pads or were you afraid?

A goalie can have a great SV% just by having a good team in front of them that limits any good scoring opportunities. What about Goals Against Average? IMO I think you need to take into account both GAA and SV%. That said, I don't think you can truly "assess" any player if you don't actually watch the game - especially goalies. Sometimes the shooter is just better on that particular shot. For instance, last season Faribo's #10 walked out from the corner and scorched a backhand into the upper corner past the AL goalie. I don't care who was in net, they're not making that save. That goal counted in the goalie's stats, but is it really the goalie's "fault"? Sometimes they're just better.

Seriously, the ONLY stat that really matters (whether or not it "matters" is relative) is W's and L's. Sure it's nice to now how you're doing and if you're improving by looking at the stats, but when all is said and done the only thing that matters is if your team won or lost.

i was too afraid Falcons...they take some time and i want to play my best hockey against your team...well the best hockey i can play during the summer....
