Why would anybody give anything for this guy?

Who would even want him in camp?

Second biggest draft bust in Purple history.

Remember this...

The Vikes traded Randy Moss to Oakland for Napoleon Harris (who did virtually nothing in 2 seasons.. the 2nd as a backup), and the 7th pick in the '05 draft (Troy Williamson... also did virtually nothing).

So, if you break it all the way down, essentially, Randy Moss was traded away for Jacksonville's 6th round pick. AWESOME!

What did Randy do while he was in Oakland though? Got traded for a 4th rounder?

Vikings offered a third rounder for Sage Rosenfels.

Quite a good deal if it happens, he's a capable starter, then go sign wide out D.J Hackett in free agency. Then a DE(Justin Smith or Odom from the Titans.)

Backup QB for the Texans who played well in extended action for them last year. It would be a solid pickup if they got him for a 3rd. He would push Jackson and possibly overtake him.

Bernard Berrian in for a visit today, along with RB/KR Maurice Hicks.

Justin Smith and ex-Gopher Thomas Tapeh expected later today or tomorrow.

Also rumored that the Vikes already have a deal in place with Madieu Williams. Should be a busy day. :D

No need to thank me, Vikes fans. You're welcome.

I also feel that it's somehow fitting that a Raider is paving the way for a Governor. All is right with the world!

Guess that means it's adios for Tony Richardson.

Worth a gamble if he takes an incentive-laden deal, but a lot of people feel his knee is wrecked beyond repair. He is a big name but he can't expect much dough because he is a huge risk.

And we sign Bernard Berrian. Still need a QB, IMO.

Maybe we do schwang but where do you get one?

They are scarce.

They are doing the next best thing, one year late, which is building a team around him.

The Purple has done well in recent years with adequate QBs, if they had a team around him.

Berrien is fast. Beyond that, I'm not sure.

Berrien's previous team (who needs recievers in a bad way) did very little to try keep him, this raises a red flag with me.

Berrian lucked into the fact that the WR free agency is class is very weak. The Vikings made him the 4th highest paid WR in the league (Moss will bump him down to 5th once he signs) He's definatly an upgrade over Williamson but given the Vikings had, statistically, the worst starting QB in the NFL last year I don't see how this helps much.

The Vikings have pressing issues; no legitimate plan at QB, a OT who will be suspended by the league and he played on the "good" side, and no pass rush. Wide receiver wasn't a strength by any means on this team but it wasn't a priority need either.

Free agency or not the Vikings season will hinge on 2 questions:
1) Can Jackson be a NFL level QB
2) Will Peterson be able to pick up a blitz

I think the answer to both is no, but I hope I'm wrong because they're both young players and could be productive Vikings for a long time.

Mewelde Moore is going to Pittsburgh. No huge loss for the Vikes, but what do the Steelers want with him? Is Najeh Davenport a free agent?

Jackson's tools are so flawed it's gonna be too late for him by the time he's even close to what I would call "adequate." Comb the wires, talk to agents, look into trading up in the draft but don't bet on Jackson carrying us anywhere news worthy. It won't happen.

Genius, PB. Absolutely genius. What about Cunningham? We drug him out of some construction job last time - what's he up to these days?

See, there yah go, I didnt even think of Randall C.

Why cant the Vikings come up with this kind of stuff?

I really do think TJack will be OK (emphasis on OK) if he has some guys around him.

One more WR and a tight end along with AP should make him better.

It will be a kick ass offense just like Chilly said. we hope
