Why is Edina so up and down this season? They beat tonka who has been strong but lost to weaker teams at Shattuck??

Didnt' Tonka lose some player too high school, that were with them the first 5 weeks of the season? Also Edina is young and talented... I would rather play them now then in February / March.

Mpls had only 11 skaters but still dominated every aspect of the game Rosemounts goalie kept them in it. If Mpls hadn't got so many penlties in the third the score could have easily been double didgets
Penalties are part of game and the team you played tonight caused you to take them. You had 2 minor penalties = 4 minutes and a 10 minute misconduct. which the kid that got that said the f-word. he didn't have a point tonight so I don't think he would have helped you get to double didgits. You had 11 minutes in the 3rd period at even strength
We scored one goal on powerplay and you guys scored 1 goal on breakaway/ rebound in the 3rd period so I don't see how you dominated.
In our district it's a 2 game suspension if you swear at a ref or ref hears you swear. I think he was lucky to only get a 10 minute misconduct. Considering everyone in the rink heard him say the f-word.
Is the reason you only had 11 players tonight because you have kids sitting out for suspensions?
We only had 13 skaters and about 5 of them have injuries that they are trying to play through.
They kept working hard even though the score was not in their favor. I will take that team then the one that you have. I saw kids crying because they got a penalty with a 4 goal lead. Your kids have some skill and are a tough team. But tell your kids once in while that just maybe they really do deserve a penalty. Maybe they wouldn't whine so much.
I do think you need to lay off the alcohol it's starting to impair how you view hockey games. Your team scored 2 pp goals and we scored 1. I have to be honest with you I thought your team played better shorthanded, thats when you scored 2 of your goals. 2nd period you out played us. Thats it and thats when you had most your penalties.
Your Team Won the game. Enjoy the victory & try to stay out of the bars before games. I think this will help you see the game better.

Statsman - I think it is pretty clear that apples2oranges is a player, not a parent. Maybe he was the "f" word guy! HINT: a few misspellings or grammatical problems in every post and a little too much bias usually is the tip-off that you are dealing with a player, and not a parent.
Completely agree on the "f" word stuff. Surprised the ref didn't give the kid two for unsportsmanlike and a game misconduct if it is like you say (everyone in the rink heard it). Since you seem to have the stat sheet from the game, what were Minneapolis Park's penalties in the third?

He already had called the kid for a hold then the kid said bad word and he called misconduct.
I was wrong the scoresheet said only 3 penalties in third. They did scoresheet not us. They had back to back penalties and we had a 5 on 3 for 2 minutes. which we scored right as the 1st penalty was over and then they took another penalty they killed it off. they listed these penalties in 2nd period.
They outplayed us in 2nd period and thats it. They won the game. I guess now winning just isn't good enough. Mn Rankings has created a monster, now if you only win by 4 goals you have to go on website and try to convince the people that you should have won by 10 goals
Maybe the kid was right they did dominate us.
Lakeville south can say they dominated us 13-0 we had no answer for them. I don't think the kids in our locker room would say that about the mpls-park team.

Hey lets lay off the kid a bit with 2 misconducts it sounds like the kid was tryin to say that his team were being idiots and it could have been a way better game if they had just calmed down and played.

Minneapolis Park has a good team-they can play. But just like any 14-15 year old 'kids' team, anyone can win on any given night. Usually the better ones win more often, but....The cream usually rises to the top, but crazy things happen at kids hockey games, we all know that. OMG has very good team, but they lost Shattuck 5 or 6 to nothing this weekend--I'll bet OMG wins 8 to nothing against some great team next week. Thats what makes them fun to watch.

(Rochester took a bad penalty with 3:42 left and Woodbury scored on the powerplay. Very even teams. Be interesting to see how D8 turns out)

rudy, i take it Bemidji is pretty good this year? 2-1 game to Edina is nice. Edina will be a team you would rather face now then in Feb/March. Many 1st year bantams on that team.

Apple Valley 4
Bemidji 0
0-0 after the first period. Apple Valley came out strong in the second period scoring 3 in the first 5 minutes. Valley got 1 more in the third. Bemidji didn't have many scoring chances in the game.

Unfortunately Bemidji is playing without a couple of very key players who are out due to injury. That said, I am not trying to discredit their competition at all. Bemidji has lost to some great teams. Do not count them out due to these early losses though. They are a very talented group of young men and will look even better when they are healthy and at full strength.

Apple Valley 3
Roseville 3
Apple Valley was up 3-2 in the last minute, brought the puck back in their zone instead of chipping it out, turned it over and Roseville scored with 16 seconds left. Valley only had a few players working hard tonight. Roseville had a couple kids that are very skillful.
