Ouch!
kind of shot Austin dwn after their first conference win against East. I guess it kind of puts them in there place, the bottom of the section.

They better oil up the hinges on the pealty box for both sides. We all know that Albert Lea should spank Austin this year, unless the new coach for Austin has worked hard on his power play unit and can take advantage of the power play and find a way to win. Drop the puck and sharpen the pencil and let the GOON HOCKEY begin. And to both teams , don't forget the purpose of the game tonight is to put the puck in the net.
ZAMBONER,
Very clean game both ways tonight. Looks like A.L. remembered what the purpose of the game was. I think Austin knew the purpose of the game too, they were just not capable.

Wondering what your thoughts were since you're an A.L. hockey expert. Did you make the game?

ZAMBONI-- you are worthless seriously you think you just know the game and every teams style of play!! I love how you are talking about GOON hockey how many games of AL or Austin have you been to??? What do you mean by GOON hockey? Cuz when i think of GOON hockey it is kids throwing punches and two handing hitting the goalie well after the play and that isnt what the kind of penalties AL is taking. So go watch a game or two and get a clue what kind of penalties there are having problems with. Also how many times have you watched an AL practice and heard the coaches teach or tell us to be cheap and play dirty hockey?? You just come on here and assume to many things and i dont think it is just me getting pissed off at your worthless comments that are not even true. o ya the only thing that should be getting oiled up is your keys on your key board............GOON hockey zamboni says...... get a life!!! o ya for your information ZAMBONI the AL - Austin game was a pretty clean game so dont just come on here and say that it was getting really chippy at the end because it wasnt!!!

Luverne vs Marshall

Luverne beat marshall? How? Was the officiating good? Marshall play bad? or is Luverne a force to be reckoned with?

Even officiating shouldn't account for that, if that score holds true that really shakes things up a little. Marshall was 10-3 and a likely 1 or 2 seed where as Luverne would be somewhere around an 8.

Kato West- 9
Kato East- 1

I am surprised to hear that Luverne beat Marshall but at the same time I think that Marshall is only third or fourth in Section 1A. Just my thoughts.

Albert Lea vs. Austin game. Congrads Albert Lea you beat 2 freshman goalies. Austin would put up a better fight if they used the tutor shooter 5 hole board in the net and skated 6 on 5.

Luverne played a nice game and took advantage of all their chances. At the same time shots were 56 for Marshall and 22 for Luverne. Luverne goalie gets a lot of credit.

Luvrene lost to East. There is no way Luvrene is a force to be reckoned with. However, the goaltending sounded like it as very good..That coud lead to an upset or two for them come playoff time.

West will get the 1 seed, and will advance to the State tournament.

Still many big games for Section 1A. After the Marshall v. West/AL/NU we will know a lot more.

I meant Marshall vs. all of those teams rather than NU v. AL.

East will really need to stay out of the box if they have any chance to hang with West.
West cannot overlook East since we all know that these games usually end up closer than they look on paper.

West 7-2
I predicted it. East could not afford to play shorthanded. West goes 6 for 7 on the PP. Not alot of discipline on the East squad as their top players parade to the box game after game. If Van Overbeke does not reign in these guys, they might not win another game all year.
And what is he thinking pulling the starting goalie and putting in Miller who has two groin pulls and can hardly move when he has a third goalie sitting on the bench

I think that last year NU beat AL and AL still was a higher seed. I also think everyone should just let the season play out. It is a matter of who has it going at the end. Looks as if Marshall ran into a good goalie or made him look good. Where was the game played?

i really think the battle for 1 is between al/west...have west or al played each other yet....i think west will come out of this section but it should be a good battle between al/west

Luverne has some very good sophmores, their goalie is improving and they are very physical. If they keep their checks legal they might surprise some people down the stretch.

Marshall has a habit of outshooting opponents and losing. At Eveleth, they outshot Irondale and North Metro and lost. Waseca nearly upset Marshall in Eveleth, but some defensive lapses allowed Marshall to get out of there with the win. Marshall's goaltending needs a lot of work.

I think New Ulm is better than Marshall, especially in goal.

This might be the year West goes to St. Paul, but they've got to reckon with Albert Lea still. Saturday will be huge.

Maybe this was because New Ulm lost to Waseca right before the seedings were determined? hmm...ya losing to waseca or luverne will do that to ya

The websites don't have a time for the AL / West game. What time does it start?

as a great coach once said... "we dont want to peak now, we want to peak at the end of the season."

ps. the big nine website says game time 730 for AL/West but not sure if thats right or not some back up would be helpful

I gotta say its still a toss up, with West and Albert Lea in front right now, but that doesn't change the fact the the top 4 teams can beat eachother with chances for upsets, as we learned last night. Many may have written Marshall off but there is a lot of season left. Its going to be very exciting from here until the end when we find out who is going to St. Paul.
