Ummm....It's the University of San Diego not San Diego St.

The Gophers have a tough road, but San Diego did only squek by Michigan 7-6 so maybe there is some hope. (The Gophers never did play Michigam this season)

The Gophs get by San Diego 6-5 in 10 innings, a great game for the Gophs. Actually aside from 1 really bad inning they had 2 good games so far.

If Michigam holds on against Vandy the Big 10 will be 4-2 through day 2 of the tournament and no matter what all 3 teams will still be alive.

Gophers 7-1 losers to Cal St. Fullerton
Gophers 6-5 winners over San Diego
Gophers 11-6 losers to Fresno St.

Until the planet warms up or until Minneapolis can move 10 degrees further south, this might be the best the U can do in hardball. Michigan seems to be flirting with advancement but the World Series for them is still three hard fought wins away.

Anybody know what the Gophers' plan is when the Metrodome either goes away or becomes football only? I know they play a bulk of their schedule in there, and I believe they start in February. That won't work at Siebert or the new Twins park.

Is college baseball pretty much a "home grown" sport?

Judging by the outcome of the first game last evening I think the Gophers can compete this year.......................in the MAC.

So, whats the deal with TV? Are all the Gopher games rights owned by the Big 10 network? If so, I am SOL because I have Comcast.

I have DirecTV so I have the Big 10 Network, BUT based on Saturday's telecast the games are regionally assigned, I guess the Indiana/Indiana St. game trumped the Gophers/BG game.

Seeing a Gopher FB game this year could be as elusive as a conference win regardless of where you live and what service you recieve.

Weird. Not only did I watch the Gophers on 220, they also aired IU/ISU on channel 219... in fact, all 6 games that BTN aired on Saturday were available to me on either 218,219,220, or 221.

Excuse me, I have to make a phonecall to DirecTV customer service.

Its going to be a long, long, long, long, long, long, long, long, long season.

Thankfully, I have Comcast.

Commericial #1: Comcast is advertising that they carry over 100 college football games featuring 50 games of the Big 10's best teams on ABC & ESPN.

Commercial #2: Dish Network which also doesn't have BTN simply echoes what Comcast is saying.

Commercial #3: Simply says "complain to your cable provider about not recieving the BTN."

Comcast has it all wrong, not everyone wants the Big 10's best teams, we want the bad one's too. Another thing Comcast, ABC is free.

You have to wonder though... Comcast carries neither the NFL Network nor the Big Ten Network, but owns several of their own regional sports networks... wonder what's going on over there?

BTN will only sell it to Comcast if they put it on their base package. It seems as though the Big 10 is making a stand for the people by pressuring Comcast to include it with everything else, but that's not the case. The BTN gets a different price per/subscriber depending on the package that Comcast assigns it to, the Big 10 has run the numbers and they will make far more $$$$$ by making sure it is included in the base package.

It's almost the exact same thing NFL Netowrk is dealing with.

Whatever. Like I say, I'm happy with the dish... and all 6 of the Big Ten games I was able to watch on Saturday!
