I predict............Brett Favre will be under center for this one and Aaron Rogers will still be wearing the baseball cap and holding a clipboard.

nope, not going to happen. Packers will have a great year though as they will throw a quarter the interceptions as they have for the past 15 years...

Jared Allen, the franchise player for the Kansas City Chiefs, is heading to a new franchise, the Minnesota Vikings, according to multiple sources.
We might not have a QB, but we'll have a hell of a D-line

I heard it cost em their 1st round and both third round picks, I hope it's not gonna end up like a Hershel Walker trade

Good trade.

I like it. Barring injury, they should have a fairly devistating D line. You get the league's leading sack leader and throw him in there with the Williams... offenses are going to have real tough time being able to move anywhere with that mix. This Madieu Williams they picked up in the backfield has a nose nose for the ball, as does Sharper, so that extra heat up front is going to help those guys out... it's just a shame that Favre retired so soon - they'd have had a chance to really pad their stats!

I like the move. A little steep but the chances of getting a guy with this much in the 17 spot or the third round this year isn't real likely. At least they are trying to add talent and grit to get better.

Awsome trade, at least they don't tie in a bunch of money to 3 players that they don't really know what to expect. This guy is an animal and he will turn heads immediatley. Next fall should be fun to watch. Know all they need is a QB and some Recievers that can catch the Damn ball. Way to go Vikes keep it coming.

If Trent Freakin' Dilfer can win a Super Bowl with a great defense and solid running game. Jackson should be able to win with a great running game and a defensive that has been solid against the run and made a major upgrade to stop the pass. I'm not predicting Super Bowl here but they have become a contender.

Absoboofinlutely.
Its very hard in the days of salary cap and free agency to put together all the ingredients. So, lets quit whinig about the QB and get a defensive player that changes the game. I like it.
Not only will this add talent to the Dline but it will make the other guys more effective who are already there. How do you double team both KWilliams and this guy?
Hey, if there was a QB out there to change the game, fine, but if not, this is the next best thing.
They need on more guy. A quality WR.

Are we sure Berrian won't suffice with this offense? I'm not a huge fan of his, but realistically, T-Jack isn't going to be winging it 40 yards down the field too often no matter who he has to throw to, so they shouldn't need much more than a guy who can run a clean 10-15 yard out, isn't afraid to get hit over the middle, and can CATCH THE BOOFIN' BALL. They don't really need a big homerun guy - they have him in the backfield. Just get that WR who can get the ball outside to thin out the middle of the defense for Peterson.
Having said that (woohoo!), a Chad Johnson type might put a completely different spin on the offense... but they should still work the way they need to right now.

I hate it, absolutley hate it. Allen is a great DE, no qustion but the guatenteed money is outrageous. The Vikings will be up against the cap badly. They were 16 million under prior to signing Allen, granted no draft picks this year, but also no free agent money for a team that has 2 rostered DT's, and is very thin at the OL, not to mention a big ? with McKinney, 4 million won't help much, not to mention weakens their postion drastically for years. They wouldn't spend money or draft picks to shore up their glaring weakness at QB (Jackson was statistacally the worst starting QB in the NFL last year) but they'll spend a ton at DE?
Their defense wasn't the issue last season, they were alright, their problem was on offense and once teams figured out Peterson couldn't play in the pasing game their offense went from mediocre to downright bad.
Last thing; Chris Speilman has left a trail of teams with serious salary cap issues that hounded them for years after his departure, this looks no different. A DE won't make this team markedly better, the defense should be improved but they aren't the Baltimore Ravens of a few years ago.

No they're not the Ravens of a few years ago, but that seems to be the blueprint being followed. It is proven to work. Berrian is an upgrade at WR Rice and Allison should be able to contribute as well as Wade and Ferguson. T-Jack just has to hand it to Peterson and complete 10 passes a game. Try to throw couple down the field, hope for a pass interference call or one long completion a game. If he can do that they will be contenders.
