Fergus Falls 5, Fargo Shanley 1

59 shots on goal for Fergus Falls..............hat trick, matt Wacklawic.............
good win, could've been better, still, Otters improving....
Looking for three in a row at Bemidji on Friday, next Tuesday, Wadena comes to Fergus Falls to decide the second seed in the section, this is really unimportant, but it will be a big game should have a nice crowd and it will show wether Fergus is willing to beat a team that should be pretty close....also is last section game for Fergus and should be a good prelude to section tournement, Roseau is after that then DL (make up for christmas tourney..................)....
Fergus Falls: 6-5-3...............

im sure the kid who got the assist, is the one who put it on the sheet. hes someone who could care less if he scores 100 pts in his career, im sure the one thing he cares about is making it back to state.

Morris Benson

I agree with peterjiggs Morris could upset a quality team in the first round of playoffs such as Wadena or Fergus (not LF because they will be the #1 seed) but if Morris is #4 they could knock of LF in the semi-finals. Prairie Center has improve drastically in the past month they might be able to upset a team in the playoffs....just a thought.

Just a note LF is now ranked #20 in state.

Edited by: <A HREF=http://p074.ezboard.com/bmnhs.showUserP ... stice16 at: 1/19/05 12:10 pm

Little Falls 8 Alex 7

A real defensive effort by both teams.<img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... ns/eek.gif ALT=":eek"> LF blew a four goal lead and held on to win by one. If LF is going to be truly effective there going to have to make some defensive adjustments. This was a fun game to watch unless you were a coach.

Morris and Prairie Center will not upset Wadena or Furgus thats just silly.

Morris/Benson got thumped by Prairie Centre 5-1.

Wadena smoked Prairie Centre 6-2 earlyer this season when lil Pettit was their.

Wadena also tied them when "lil" pettit was not there. On any given night, any team in the section could get knocked off. I think it will come down to the most consistant and hard working team. If everyone is on their game over sections, the hardest working team will win.

I am just curious on peoples opinons on the Pequot Lakes team. I am not talking about winning the section, but as a team have they improved over the last few years. And do you see them improving more over the next few years. They seem to have a youth program that is growing, will the high school team be a competitor in a 5 - 10 years. Or is there program to poor to be competitive? Any thoughts.

Things can change in a few years good or bad, but don't ask for any predictions past 5 years there is a lot that can go on in that time period.

fastice does your program have a 3/1 practice to game ratio? do you take politics off the ice? Do you have skills focused coaches at the youth level? A high school coach can teach a sysem in a couple weeks, skills take years. And most of all does your program focus on the new kids to get them caught up? Numbers? If yes to all you have a great chance of seeing them improve, the team i coach is playing a youth team from their this weekend ill let you know what i see

Pequot has a unique situation, thay have a bunch of kids in there ameteur program and most are from the affluent Breezy Point / Crosslake area.

In addition they have several ex-NHLers that have retired to the Whitefish Chain that have young kids and are getting involved in the program.

They also have a very nice rink with plenty of room for expansion and cater to the locals with open ice times year-around.

Pequot Lakes is a up and coming program and they will make some noise in 4 or 5 years from now.

Da krankster

Morris/Benson and Prairie Centre could definatley upset someone in the 2nd round of the 4a playoffs. I have seen both teams play, i think MB is 10-4 and PC is .500 but they are pretty decently skilled for a section 4 team. The 2 teams may not have a great shot at knocking off Little Falls but I think these 2 programs are up and coming and might make a some noise this year to get their names on the map. Oh yeah i was skimming through another post on this topic and did Little Falls really beat Alec this season?

Alex isnt the powerhouse they used to be, so its just another average team win for Little Falls, but you won, cant ask for anything better than that. Im sure Im going to get slapped back for saying that too, lol.

I was arguing with someone on this thread who said that no one in section 4 will have a top 20 team this year, BAM.........do I smell smoke or what???????? Good job Little Falls. Fergus has tech coming up and Roseau along with DL and WADENA in Fergus................should be fun.........

According to AD Mike Olson this won't happen because the school district population are too high to allow the Alex team to play in class A besides the population cutoff should be lowered because of shrinking districts. Don't always believe what you hear Klosowski.

I just moved down to LF this year and I've been watching thier high school team (not as much as I would like) and I think they will take the section this year. They have some very skilled players who can find the net and they have a great coach. They are fast and they move the puck very well. They do however need to improve on their defensive play, and they need to get some consistent goaltending if they want to succeed at the state tourney

section 4

Fergus Falls is struggling to find consistensy, it would've been nice to see them play bemidji before I make this prediction..........they have been having some succuss lately, (nto that the last one was great, but a w is a w) and haven't had a really BAD game since the one in Eveleth, I think it started there. The goal now is to learn how to finish off a tough game as they did against Fargo South in time for the playoffs...
Wadena is just plain struggling lately. Comming off of a big section championship, they are having a downer of a season with limited success. Some nice wins, but some letdowns have dampened their season. They are trying to get back up in time for the post season..........
One might say too close to call, I will not argue accept on the fact that I think that Fergus might have a little more. The only thing that will get Fergus is the syndrom they caught when they played in Little Falls earlier this year when they still nto neccassarily want to, but do anyway look past them a little. Wadena will be very up for this game, probably the biggest this year for them, as it should be for Fergus...but I hope that the past doesn't get into these kids' heads......if you know what I mean.
Fergus, by a couple or Wadena close.........Fergus because of the strong goaltending and physical play plus charecter.......Wadena because they are playing their arch rivals in section 4a and are hungry for more........plus a decent offensive line and some experience................end....: Fergus 5 Wadena 3......good luck ot all and I hope I am there to see another historic game................

Wadena has never won at fergus before and are hungry to do so. The game will be a close one i think. But If wadsvill stays out of the box i think they could walk a way with it.

Wadena 4 FF 2
